This story despite its shortness awakens many questions, and potential conclusions. Less spoilery ones include:
One mustn't underestimate the clinical benefit of removing memories if you get to pick which ones.
The question of course being if you could prevent a creature that feeds on them from just taking everything on offer and more besides.
The word requirements for a review on RoyalRoad, especially along with a lack of a word counter is sometimes very frustrating. I understand that we wish to avoid low effort reviews, but sometimes a review of a couple dozen words can be plenty, especially for shorter stories.

An entertaining short story - a witch and a vampire go up against the Watcher Between the Worlds. We know just enough about the characters to bring them alive (or as close to that as a vampire can get) and just enough about the setting to give the action a coherent space. All in all it is very nicely done - an excellent bit of world building on a small canvas. The author suggests that he might revisit the characters in time, and I certainly hope that he does.

A quick and fun story capturing an interesting monster concept and good characters.  The combination of Lovecraftian mythos and noir sets a fun tone that I read over the course of a few hours.  I highly recommend this story and the other works by the author, especially Tenebroum!  I hope to see further developments to this short story, perhaps as future short stories.
