Description
Half-demon ranger Amon Am’rath wants nothing more than to be left alone, content hunting bounties on a remote island in the North Sea, where two ruling houses continually vie for power. When Amon discovers five soldiers murdered and left in the woods, he knows his quiet life is under threat.
Circumstances are further muddled when four agents from the Scarlet Brotherhood, an organization dedicated to hunting witches and demons, arrive on the island. Amon’s employer forces him to escort two young people, an elf boy name Galan and a girl named Nora, to meet a smuggler ship on the other side of the isle.
Pursued by the Seekers, Amon must make a decision that will forever change the direction of three lives.

- Rowdha Al SolRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I binged this in one sitting, because it is phenomenally written. While I do have a lot of issues with some of the character choices, worldbuilding, and logical consistencies (or inconsistencies, I should say), this is very solid. The narrative pace is solid, the writing is competent, and the characters are decent. On politics: classic Elves vs Humans and a dip into high fantasy tropes that simply work. If you're looking for a traditional fantasy read, it is pretty good. If you're looking for sheer realism, then you may want to pass; there's more a humourous undercurrent to the actual events in that they can come across as absurd, yet in, for me at least, a compelling way.
Following and mega-favouriting. - jDjRoseRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I must say that I'm enjoying the story so far with how they evoked the atmosphere of death and in the first chapter.
Amon and his partner in crime Ferro builds up some interesting character interaction.
So far, the story is in its early stage of development, and I don't wait to see how it turns out.
