James never believed in fate, but he definitely hadn’t expected to be yanked out of his apartment and dropped into what looked like a medieval fantasy game. One second, he was grinding out tasks inan online game, sipping on a rapidly warming energy drink. The next, he was flat on his back in a dirt road, staring up at a sky too blue to be real, a glowing notification hovering in his vision.

James blinked. His head throbbed. The air smelled… real. Not the usual apartment mix of stale coffee and cheap instant noodles. Birds chirped. The wind carried the scent of fresh-cut wood and cooking meat.

He sat up, his stomach twisting in both excitement and panic. The world around him lookedexactlylike something out ofOSRS—low-poly but somehow real, the textures smoother, the details more vivid. Cobblestone streets, wooden market stalls, a few NPC-looking villagers going about their business. The clunky yet comforting UI of an inventory panel flickered into existence at the edge of his vision. He had nothing but a basic tunic, some worn leather boots, and…

James groaned. A bronze sword.

“Are you serious?” he muttered.

A laugh bubbled up, part disbelief, part exhilaration. If this was a dream, it was the most immersive one he'd ever had. If it wasn’t… well, he was level one, armed with a bronze sword, and stuck in a world whereeverythingfelt too much like the game he'd spent thousands of hours in.

There was only one thing to do.

“Guess I better start grinding.”
