________
Liu Feng wanted to be a cultivator who defied the heavens, surpassed all limits, and had jade-skinned beauties clamoring around him. He wanted to fight anyone who got in his way, and shatter the arrogance of those young masters!
Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I'm stuck here.
Jade-like beauties? No thanks, I have an awesome magical energy to study.
Young masters? Life and death battles? No, I would rather read some books on cultivation, and master some techniques that clearly don't obey the laws of physics.
There is a junior who has trash talent but suddenly started advancing by leaps and bounds? And he seems to be favored by the heavens themselves? Yeah, that has nothing to do with me.

- CharactermoodRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Most cultivation stories end up being extremely generic. Having an 'outsider' mc who learns the world as we do makes for a very interesting story. I also appreciate the different realms of cultivation being distinct and well explained. I definitely recommend, and I really hope I'm at 50 words by now.
- GladdRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am really enjoying this story. I feel like the protagonist is a little too accepting of his fate, but that honestly helps the story move forward. There are a lot of mentions to isikia tropes being overdone in most stories and that bothers me a little by breaking the imersion, but that might be just me. Overall it is a good read and well worth the time so far.
- HellmanderRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Title says it all. Lots of other reviewers have given fair criticism and I'm just here to say that I believe most concerns have been addressed, and the story is just getting better and better. I really feel like the main character has come into his own. The latest patreon chapters had me completely hooked.
- PunpopeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Liu Feng discovers hidden truths and challenges the very foundations of the world he inhabits. Join him on a journey of self-discovery and intellectual exploration, where the pursuit of power takes unexpected and unconventional forms. Perfect for fans of cultivation novels seeking a fresh and thought-provoking perspective on the genre.
- Specter SRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I like the story, it's fun to read.
MC's low-key ass-kicking young masters is my favorite part.
The only thing I want to point out is that the MC's thoughts change quite fast from 'won't hurt people unnecessarily' to 'throwing them under the bus cause they are inconvenient to him' though.
I think giving him reason like he had to adapt to cut-throat environment quickly when he was an office worker in a black company helped him change his mindset would made the way he changed his thought so quickly more reasonable. - apauloseRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm really enjoying this story so far. It's not the first time I've seen a Xanxia insert story with this kind of concept but this is definitely one of the better implemented ones. Might make a more detailed review later. For now just know that this is good and worth a read.
- asdt560Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The thing about this story is that a lot of the early bits are set up, as our MC isn't in any particular hurry to do much of anything. But that is fine, since it shows that our MC doesn't think he's invincible, and neither does he not care whether he lives or dies. Both common pitfalls of the genre.
This, combined with not being completely unaware of the dangers afoot, means he does not drive the plot as hard as others would. But that's why there's other characters, or I should say one specific other character. But not in that annoying 'I do not get why the MC is stuck with this person' way, the dynamic works and is often enjoyable.
In summary, this is great if you like slower starts or else are willing to put up with them until payoff arrives. - neonparadoxRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This novel is an j in treating take on the xianxia genre. The characters are interesting and unique, especially the dynamic between the Mc and song song<3 (hope the ship sails!!!)
anyways, the novel is amazing and there’s many developments that you wouldn’t find in other novels(mostly)
There is so much more to talk about this novel but I am unable to put it in words because I’m lazy, tired because it’s 2 am, and lack of words to describe it:p - never_gonna_give_you_upRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've read this novel up to chapter 260, and it has never disappointed me. The protagonist has consistently made intelligent decisions that align with his situation. In this latest story arc, he's becoming colder and more ruthless, but he still holds on to his humanity thanks to the friends around him. I wonder if, as the story progresses, he’ll lose that part of himself entirely and become as merciless as Fang Huan.
Honestly, I have to say that the writing quality is starting to approach that of Reverend Insanity - Eibon EthosRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story starts off with a solid premise and a character who remains mostly consistent throughout. With side characters that both support and challenge him in various ways. I wouldn't say his growth is slow, due to his own advantages and lucky encounters, but it is consistent at least.
My only qualm is how he stops pursing "fundamental knowledge" after a time, and simply accepts magic being magic. Though this could be a red herring to distract and he is going to figure something out later that will all tie together.
I have just read what is currently free to read, and am excited to see where this will go. I want to thank the author for the releases.
