Description

"They were never predictable. It was our fault for thinking so..."

Humans pride themselves on their constant evolutions and advancements, establishing themselves above others in surviving natural selection. Yet underneath a sky of flame, the world turned dark as technology failed them and humans lost their edge.

Soon after the fall, they came. First individually and then in packs, turning civilization to ash. The first to see them thought they were figments of the imagination but by the time they realized what it was, the shadows had taken them. In a world like this, there was only one thing that ensured survival. Power.

The novel follows the story of 4 characters as they fight for their lives in this new world.

Releases on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:05 E.S.T.

Based on what I've read so far, the novel is written in the style of a traditional book. Now, before people grab their pitchforks or spam whatever, based on what I saw prior to the relaunch (so the old book), there was an effective foundation built for each of the characters. True, initially it seems... sporadic if you will but mostly because of how there is a time and date for every chapter there is structure and its an exponential growth.
Because of the variety of characters, there is always something going on and now reading up to chapter 15, its beginning to fall in place. Aside of Vanessa, who seems like a washed up character (who knows, but she's the most normal one), the author is able to give us a personality and a background for each character that we can connect with.
More of a recap than a review but there is that.
Action, we love it. The author uses it as an effective hook for many of the characters and he doesn't use it as a one and done type deal, but the initial hook becomes a central part of my of the story lines.
That's all to say, if you want action right off the bat, it there, but its not every chapter with just heaps of action. Some are casual world building.

David and Liam are well-rounded characters and I enjoyed their dynamic and banter. The world building is solid and it doesn't take long for the action and mystery to begin. I won't post any spoilers, but the twist hooked me hard and I'm curious to see where the story goes next. I recommend that you check it out too.

PLEASE CONTINUE THIS, ITS ONE OF THE MOST INTERESTING STORIES AROUND RN. On a calmer note, I didn't really like the fact that there were 4 mcs but now that we have hit our stride with 3 to 4 of them I'm loving it. It is truly special being able to keep up with all these characters and still have a coherent story, props to the author.
