    The prologue shows some promising world-building, but the first chapter proper opens with seemingly random tense switches and three consecutive sentences beginning with "Yet".
    I'm sure there are interesting ideas in here, but the clunkiness of their expression will keep potential readers off if not rapidly sorted. I'd gladly try the story again after an editing pass.
