Description

"Crimson Awakening" follows the exhilarating journey of Shinku, a 10-year-old boy thrusted into a world where magic is both a gift and a curse. Living in a single-parent’s household alongside his mother Ayumi and little sister Kira, Shinku shoulders the responsibility of protecting his family amidst, looming debts and the threat of violent gangs.

When the Black Fang gang arrives demanding payment, chaos ensues, leading to a devastating confrontation that leaves Shinku's family torn apart. As he awakens his latent earth magic in a desperate bid to save his loved ones, tragedy strikes, propelling him into a vengeful rampage against those responsible.

Power system is explained in (chapters 1 and 9) and will have deeper explanations soon. This isn't a simple revenge story its about societal reform it may and will be heavily emphasized soon as I plan to make this a long standing series and will have plenty of time to emphasize on those parts of the story so I hope you stick along for the ride

This was a very interesting story the author moves very fast a straight forward but not too much that you lose track of the story. It follows the life of a 10 year old boy names Shinku, and damn he his put through the wringer, its easy to sympathize with how he's grown up from watching his father die to watch his mom and sister die he really introduces the power system and its underable from the start and the rage he feels is corralled through his magic rage that hurn so hot is burns rock. There are grammatical issues here and there but not in your face to the point it takes you out of the story, but with some more time editing it can be easily fixed. The characters I love them, Shinku is so strong, but it comes from the fact of how he grew up even at 10 he's been through so much the other main character Ryota damn I love the guy but I can sense that there is more in store for his story after reading his backstory totally give it a read its worth the read. The author is very new to writing so you might have to excuse some rookie mistake she may make but trust me I'm sure he'll improve over time as he gets more feed back on his story and he can learn better what to do and how to protray his story

I greatly enjoyed this story. As other reviews mentioned, this story is very fast paced. For me, however, I immensely enjoyed this. It felt very stylized and snappy, which made for an enjoyable and quick read. I think there could be parts that benefit from slowing down to really accentuate dramatic moments but overall enjoy the speed.
The opening chapter really provides some glimpse into the immense challenges that the character has faced so far in their life even though they are only 10. I liked that this read like a history. Many stories choose to reveal these things about the character’s past but I think this method works great for this story.
Again, I enjoy the snappy stylization of the writing but I do think the tense should be made consistent. I don’t mind the present tense usage as long as it doesn’t shift throughout the narrative.
The story seems to be going to take a revenge arc narrative and am looming forward to seeing how the character continues to learn magic and martial arts and advance the plot. The combat is well written and enjoyable and I am looking forward to the school elements of the story very much!

I just started reading this story, and I am already in love with it. I am actually a fan of stories where something bad happens to the MC and they end up going on journeys of revenge or self-discovery. But don't worry... I won't be biased in my review and I will be fair and respectful as possible too.
Style: The formatting could be improved a bit more and I feel like there should be more dialogue between the characters to improve the style. Also adding some more descriptions could be nice. Still, the style is pretty nice and good.
Story: The story is truly the most fascinating part of this entire book. The themes of revenge and resilience is what keeps me coming back for more. Shinku, despite being young, already has to deal with immense loss and a dog-eat-dog world filled with magic. The story seems promising and has a lot of potential.
Grammar: No grammatical errors. However, there has to be a consistent tense throughout the story. Doesn't really matter since it is a common mistake and is easily corrected going forth.
Character: The characters are really well-rounded and relatable... especially Shinku. He might be young but he already has enough resilience and smarts to learn to survive in the outside world. Ryota is also an interesting character and I predict he could act as a parent figure to Shinku. The character developments is another interesting and core aspect of this story.
Overall: It is a really interesting story and worth the read. I would recommend it if you are fan of progression and strong lead characters.

Overall: "Crimson Awakening" is an intriguing title, not entirely unique but evocative enough to hint at the plot. This can be a double-edged sword. Personally, as a mystery novel aficionado, I favor titles that remain enigmatic until the story unfolds significantly. I've strayed off topic, apologies.
Style: The narrative moves at a brisk pace, perhaps too swiftly for my taste. A more measured tempo might enhance the reading experience. Issues with spacing and the clarity of dialogue tags are minor but worth correcting to demonstrate attentiveness to feedback.
A personal gripe of mine is the use of present tense, which feels as jarring as switching from a left- to a right-hand drive car without warning. Consistency in tense is crucial; its current fluctuation is disorienting. While this may be more of a personal issue, it does make the story more challenging to engage with for me. Yet, I wouldn't discontinue reading over this; it would take a lackluster plot, poorly developed characters, or egregious grammatical errors to drive me away. Speaking of which...
Grammar: The grammar is solid, indicating careful editing and proofreading—a practice not all authors adhere to.
Story: The story follows a somewhat predictable revenge arc, which could unfold in various ways but often leads characters to a path consumed by vengeance. Not exactly my preference, unless it's balanced with moments of lightness and connection, such as friendships.
Characters: It's too early to form a definitive opinion on the characters, especially with the protagonist's journey and the potential directions of the revenge plot still unfolding.
In summary, this story leans heavily into the revenge narrative common on this platform. If that's not your genre of choice, it might not appeal to you. However, I'm holding out for further character development before making a final judgment. I struggle with stories where I can't connect with the protagonist. On a final note, congratulations on publishing your

Whew. After 6 rapidly fast-paced chapters, here I am dropping my review of Crimson Awakening. In these opening 6 chapters, my guy Shinku has been put through the wringerrrr. Seriously, the amount of tragedy this kid has gone through at only 10 years old is rough, but it opens up an interesting avenue for the author to take. A good 'ol (prodigy) mc who is on his revenge arc. The general story reminds me a lot of early Vinland Saga with Thorfinn if that helps put a picture in y'alls minds.
Style: It's very fast and direct. Doesn't try to hide those qualities much either, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. There are also times when just general trust in the reader's imagination could be integrated into the overall writing, but once again, the author has a style and it was easy to follow. I think with some more time spent editing, mostly to chop up the bulky paragraphs at times, the story will flow that much better.
Story: Like I said above, it's revenge arc for the mc (with a mentor character, Ryota, who is a parallel to the mc as well). There are a TON of different directions kioger could take with this premise, and I'm sure some thought has already gone into what will come next now that the initial basis of the story has been established. And it allows the author the option to create a character that can tread between the waters of "good" and "evil".
Grammar: I believe the few grammar and punctuation errors I found will be resolved with some extra time spent on editing. One thing I will mention is that there are times when it switches from past to present tense and back again, maybe in the next paragraph without a break perhaps. Those things did not hinder my enjoyment whatsoever, though, so take 'em with a grain of salt.
Character: We got a nice little cast here. Shinku and Ryota are obviously gonna be the main guys moving forward and their relationship will continue to develop so I'm excited to see where it goes. Just met a guy at Nexus Academy named Batoru wh

Shinku's origin story is one tragic mess, and that's why you can't help but want to root for him as he goes through his new life with his new magic powers to boot...we've got all the makings of a fun tale here, and it is a fun one, for sure.
Style: I had a few issues with how flashback transitions weren't easily noticeable, which made it a little harder to follow, but it's a minor detail, and doesn't really detract from the story. The use of narrative third person and past tense is good, and there's a tension in the narrative that bleeds off the page...in a good way.
Story: Shinku's tale is heavy, tragic, and hard to swallow -- it's got all the makings of a superhero origin story if this was a hero tale. It kinda feels that way because he does a couple of vigilante acts in the esrly chapters. Clearly, he's a kid who needs to work on his issues by hitting something.
The world feels like ours, but there's magic in it that makes it ten times more interesting than our mundane Earth. The fact that Shinku is a fire/earth bender is also a plus -- I absolutely love that combination of elements. Speaking of elements, elemental magic is the system this world's got, and though everyone has magic, only a few people can make it work. A class system is introduced, one with the haves and have nots feeling like they'd taken a page from our reality.
Ryota is the Ob-Wan to Shinku's Luke...and thanks to him, it feels like the 10 year old boy might just get enough guidance in his life that he doesn't turn into a supervillian. No more spoilers here, but I do like the idea of Shinku joining the police force.
Grammar: There were some missing words, wrong punctuation, and odd phrases mixed into the writing, but the grammar is good enough that it won't break your immersion. It's also easy to understand, and that's all that matters.
Characters: Ahinku and Ryota are the strongest points of this novel. Their personalities, which is clearly defined, work well together, with the young boy filled

Grammar (4/5): The grammar isn’t too bad. The author mixes up present and past tense, a common mistake for new writers (me included). Other than that, I didn’t spot anything that would hinder my enjoyment.
Style(4/5): For the most part, the style is decent. It’s fast–paced and direct, and there is a lot of action early on. However, I do have a few complaints, one being that the spacing isn’t consistent. Some chapters are double spaced while others are single. Whether it’s double or single, it doesn’t matter as long as it’s consistent. Also, the pacing is a little too fast. I feel like the reader doesn’t get enough time to digest what’s going on. Not saying fast–paced stories aren’t good, but sometimes, it’s good to take it slow a bit.
Story(4.5/5): The story has great potential. It’s a revenge story with a high ceiling. Shinku experienced loss at an early age and desires revenge for his loved ones. The story is still fresh, but I have full faith that the author will take it somewhere great.
Characters(5/5): The characters are my favorite part. The main character is Shinku, a young kid who suffered through loss, but has the strength to push forward. His dynamic with Ryota, his mentor, is very interesting. It’s almost like a father–son relationship, and I’m excited to see how they progress in the future.
Overall(4.5/5): Give it a go! The story and characters are both great! With a little bit of polishing, this fiction will seriously go places.

The crimson awakening is quite an interesting read, with a slightly unique concept and title, but there are a few issues I would like to point out.
The first is the style of writing which is a little fast paced for my taste, especially the first few chapters. The narrative moves too swiftly to easily digest and understand, and I think it'll the story a lot of good if the author slows down a little more.
The dialogue and characters are very interesting and I have no real problems with them. The main character is a ten year old who has had an extremely difficult life so far.
It's quite easy to sympathize with the MC and the situation he finds himself in. The world building is still a little unclear, but I'm sure that'll be sorted out in a few more chapters.
The Grammer is solid and clean. No major errors stick out to me, which shows just how dedicated the author is to editing and proofreading. Kudos.
Overall, I think the story has immense potential and I particularly love how it leans towards a revenge arc. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more and would definitely recommend the book.

Crimson Awakening gives me Hunter x Hunter vibes with the main character being so young and having strong abilities. Ryota is a good dude, helping and taking in Shinku at his lowest point, not many would do that. Ryota has quite the story himself, I was a bit sad reading about it. This story has issues, nothing that takes away from much. The author does say they are new at writing so it's all grammatical problems that can easily be buffed out. Pacing is a huge problem I have with the story, it could easily be slowed down and have more time spent on Shinku's plights and make us feel more for him. But it feels like the story has really just begun as Shinku is on course to get some training for his advanced abilities he awoke to. Ryota I'm interested in too because he has a mystery to him I can tell there's more to him than what I've read and that excites me.Give this a read it has great potential, witch I always look for in a story just beginning. Crimson Awakening with more chapters and some editing could grow into a story that anyone could enjoy.
