Created G.H.O.S.T. System - A Cyberpunk Story (Book 3 Stubbed)

Description
Become a Wraith. Advance Through the Tiers. Don't go Cyberpsycho.
Trace had finally gotten his first proper job as an apprentice Wraith, and already everything was going wrong. The information the Job Broker had given him was bad. Now he was left hiding in the middle of a Scav den as they returned.
Such was life in Denver in the year 2159.
Everything had changed when Steel Goddess Meredith went berserk a hundred and thirty years before. Her wrath was just the first step in the downfall of humanity and the world.
The Corporations that were to blame, got pushed aside, while new ones rose up to power. All the while she watched down from above, no longer caring what humans did with Earth. Space, however, was hers alone.
This was the world Trace was born into, a harsh, uncaring place. It was also one where it was possible to become practically immortal if you had enough money and could withstand the side-effects.
As long as he can keep his cyberware under control, and can keep progressing and learning. Moving through the Tiers to become a specialized Wraith won't be a problem. First, he'll need to survive long enough to escape this den. Preferably with all his parts still attached.
(Note: A Wraith is a stealth specialist, not to be confused with the ones from Cyberpunk 2077)
---------------------------------------------I will be uploading new chapters on Saturdays for the foreseeable future.
(Note: As with my other stories, this one focuses more on the characters than on constant action. Though it does admittedly have more action than most of my other stories.)
Author's Note: This is my raw, mostly unedited, first draft text. I am using RR to test out this story as I'm writing it to get a feel for how the published and edited copy will be received. Certain sections of the story will be changed or added to when I publish it as well. However, that said, all attempts to edit the story will be deleted, unless they are correcting AN ACTUAL ISSUE! IE a forgotten word, a misspelled word, things of this nature. Grammar does not count, because guess what, grammar in fiction is vastly different from grammar in academia. All you grammar nazis know less than jack-all about the grammar in a story, because the grammar in a story is up to the author (within reason).

- redbaronRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I’m somewhat new to the cyperpunk genre but am enjoying reading this story. The characters seem fairly well developed with understandable motives. I’m wondering where the relationship with Ko will end up. I’ve been reading a couple of other cyperpunk stories on royalroad but most haven’t been my cup of tea. I’ll be looking for others similar.
- ScoopdedoodiddlydooRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well paced, grimy cyberpunk with snippets of a creative and believable alternate historical timeline leading to current events.
Excellent twists on some common tropes, with some cool one-off settings explored in arcs that flesh the world out significantly.
And honestly, it's kinda just nice to read a well written cyberpunk story without excessive "system" involvement... - TargrothRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I came to this story after having found the first book on Amazon. Read it in a single sitting. Then I came looking for more. I have already pre-ordered the second book on Amazon but just couldn't bring myself to wait. Guess I lack patience. this story is wonderful thoroughly enjoyable. the world building the character building everything just work so well and you actually come to enjoy and know the characters great stuff. really looking forward to seeing more.
- babblefishRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love cyberpunk, and this is a great read. This has more of a technology flavor to it. Usually most of the cyberpunk stories I read hit the ground with someone who does it all, they’re shooting and also they’re digital. Not so much this story, at lease I’m 100 chapter in and we haven’t dived into that yet. It seems the character didn’t want to hack because they don’t have the capability, but there are characters that do. Might get there, and I’m okay with that, this story just has a solid build up.
Like the writer said, the grammar is up to them, would say perfect and it’s royal road so I’m not expecting perfection because that’s for paying costumers, but needs a touch of work.
the litrpg aspect is pretty light, which is nice, just to progress that is fairly independent from the MC. I give it a 5 because I really enjoy the story, and it’s well written. To be fair, even if it’s halfway decent, if it’s cyberpunk I’m always going to give it a 5. But this one is holding my attention. There are multiple interesting characters at this point but it’s almost exclusively from the MC point of view. - Citrinitas_OpusRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0An excellent story that does a stellar job at addressing all the key aspects of the realities in a cyberpunk world
I personally particularly enjoy the main characters pension for hoarding firearms and any other Associated equipment and the more technical aspects being emphasized in the story so far .hm - crackheadRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I have enjoyed this story from start to now.
This story has some interesting way of looking at what ifs to our history to pull this all together. the story its ups and downs but overall makes a good read, it found ways to keep you in the flow, on the edge and makes you try to guess what's next. lol keeps involved and that is what makes it good to me.
Thanks for the ride and i hope for more! - Dr.WaterproofRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Binged it in a day. Nice to see a new cyberpunk story with some alternative history put in place. I'm hoping they don't leave one of the main plot devices out of action for too long, as having mentor and an overarching plot would be fun. Don't get me wrong, I'm following several stories where the plot is "And then they became the best Edgerunner ever". But if you put an angry space goddess and why she's been peeved for over a century with a hook on how that could all change, I'm definitely hoping for that plot to pop off before the story gets too far along.
Give it a chance beyond the prologue and you should see why this story is an easy follow.
Edit: Metal mommy is a go and her son stopped being a no show. Let's start building borgs! - FuzzyMonkeyRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5MC isn't a misnamed MonkeyGaryKingSue! how rare on RR is that!? sadly very

HA! take that arbitrary word count! - HeavenSeekerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Unlike the other cyberpunk story on royal road which focuses more on the daily life aspect. This story know what it want to do and achieve it. The pacing is good and the writing seem to get better and better over the chapter. I really like the pair dynamic between the male and female lead. It is so refreshing to see a bit of romance between two character and good chemistry in a cyberpunk novel.
- MyBeardIsLegendaryRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Really liking this one. The world building paints a picture of a world broken in engaging ways; the characters seem reasonable and real while still being consistently interesting. Their progression doesn't break my suspension of disbelief. I wasn't sure at first but now I eagerly look forward to every new chapter. Definitely recommend. I own published printed books that I found less enjoyable than this.
While many people talk about writing and some actually do it, sadly few choose this genre. I am thankful that this author has put forth the time and effort to do so with skill and has the well placed confidence to share their vision with us.
