Description
The Maker departed from the world with one message: that the greatest artist would come to succeed the divine throne. Without anyone to uphold them, the very laws of the world gave way to chaos. The days of the purple sun signified the blight of more and more land. Monsters lurked about, and at nights when the moon would kiss the earth, entire civilizations would cross over the veil and enter the continent of Aetrea, plunging it into perpetual wars over what little habitable land remained.
Join Bastet on his journey to uncover the mysteries of a decaying world, the kingdoms that rule it, and the magics that tear it asunder. Through struggle, friendships and love, will Bastet ever find an artist worthy of stopping the inevitable decay?

- 2dover3dpdRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0sasuga /a/non. i didn't think the madman would actually not quite writing after two days.
- Bard The ArcherRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Despite the Lack of Small couples as noted in the other reives, Couplet delivers on the promise that its premise creates. It creates an interesting premise and the characters, particularly the MC, are compelling. The vocabulary, in particular, is excellent and excellently used.
- Donnie Half LoafRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Listen, I will come back to this review later once more chapters give me a better idea of the whole thing. Very well written like chicken tendie said. The thing reads like butter, and I find myself done with it before I realize I'm naked on my chair, cheeto dust fricken' everywhere.
Basket seems like a great MC with lots of things going on with him. I am eager to see what happens next, and you will be too if you start reading Couplet. - InvalidateRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Honestly speaking, from a stylistic point of view if nothing else - story isn't far enough to make judgements on the overarching plot - you'd think this is an actual published author.
Are you an actual published author? - Lemon StealerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If normal web-novels were cans of soft drink, Couplet would be a glass of fine wine. (Don't quote me on this one, I lack the funds to indulge myself in such luxuries.)
STYLE & GRAMMAR:
One word, my friend. Ineffable. A 5/5 without a doubt in my mind. I personally far prefer a first-person POV, but the themes and the feeling work so damn well in third-person. Calling the vocabulary merely vivid would be an insult to the abilities of the author, and the way everything is delivered follows suit.
It's written by someone who knows how to write, and admittedly, I don't think it quite works as a web serial, because it just keeps on making me want to read more.
STORY:
It all began with a disaster and a promise for a chance to right the wrongs, yet fate played the man a devilish hand. Though we don't know much yet (as of chapter 5), the plot is slowly but surely unfolding, and it does so very naturally. I'm leaving this as a 5/5 because I'm having high hopes.
CHARACTER:
You won't find any living tropes with copy-paste personalities here. Just a broken wretch of a man that tries his damnest to survive. The characters are subtle, but if you pay attention, you'll realize that they have their own depth, which is very befitting of the themes Couplet plays around with. 5/5
All around excellence. I don't know what else to say. - Pancake_lvl.1Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0How in the name of the 7 heavens does this chapter has less followers and views than mine we both started like month ago.
I feel like my novel is vastly incoherent compared to this. The lines are too strong.
Now let me go lament over my low-quality work. It's certainly driving me to write better.
Also if you're bad at english. Get ready to be crushed.
Ps:- I had to google a few words. - PandaliciousRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I loved the book so far! The descriptive language and adjective use is amazing! The plot and narration is done well. I see potential in this novel, and I hope you continue writing it! The style is in my liking, which is good. Grammar is basically perfect, but there might be a few if I was a profeesional editor. Character development has been great so far, maybe a tiny bit more dialogue. the plot is going great!
Continue writing and do not stop! It will feel so good finishing a novel all by yourself! - SeagellRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a pretty fun story. Yes there are deeper messages and all that stuff, but I always wanna see some good action and this provides it. Very nice and detailed descriptions of fights, as well as an interesting plot.
- Skirt MushroomRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you lay down the fundamental themes of Couplet; conflict, war and struggle, loss, grief, and pain, what you have in your hands is naught but a hunk of grimdark depression. But as diamonds take shape from carbon, the author has managed to refine that raw, unadulterated edge into something more.
Not much can be said that hasn't already been said. Couplet wholeheartedly deserves every single positive review it has gotten so far, however, it was still written by a human, and as such, doesn't come without its flaws...
There is a criminal lack of tiny couples. I feel cheated. - mementororiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Holy fuck the writing level is insane for a fiction on RR. Just for that fact alone I would reccomend others to read this. Goodness I wish I had this level of skill.
Now pair this with intresting hook, characters, and a mysterious plot then you have a freaking amazing novel on your hands.
I know its a bit early only at 5 chapters, but they are worth every word. Read this!
Hope to see more.
