If every story must start somewhere, there ought to be a rewind to where the world has not yet changed, or, perhaps, the moment it does. The sterile stench of laboratories and the crimson spatter of blood serves just as much of a purpose as the liberating scent of fresh air and the pinkish orange of sunrise, if not more.
