Cottagecore Dungeon

Description

An elderly woman reincarnated as a Dungeon Core. Witchcraft, achy bones, and rocking chairs.

And cats. Lots of cats.

Ethel Merriweather did not play any video games until she was on her deathbed after trying to cross the street. She could hardly navigate Youtube on an Ipad, let alone crunchy RPG menu screens. Yet she's been reincarnated in another world as a Dungeon Core.

Isn't a dungeon where prisoners are kept? Why would she want to do that?

What to expect:

-Cozy Cottage-core vibes with a heaping spoonful of chaos, contrasted against a darker world.

-Granny protagonist serving up life slices of pie

-Granny ain't no min-maxer. This is a slower burn.

-No annoying Dungeon Fairies. She's playing on hard mode.

-Light action and light crunch. Lotsa humor.

-Some swearing. And lesbians. Goblin-core and dark academia vibes too.

The author dappermuffins manages to take a genre I got burnt out on years ago and make it fresh. Their characters are surprisingly funny and keep you curious for more. I look forward to what else this author has to show us. I never expected crazy granny dungeon core, but I am excited for where this writer is going.

I liked this story a lot. The story is funny with a unique senior protagonist. The granny is fallible and likeable. It manages a cozy feel with high stakes in the background. The world building is slow and nice due to granny turning off the tutorial. This story seems to be on a hiatus right now but has plenty of chapters to binge through.

Love the humor! The characters are all super fun and instantly engaging. I'm obsessed with Granny and Jellybee. Having a reincarnated old lady is a fun twist on the dungeoncore concept that I'm really enjoying. I appreciate the stat blocks are informative but not super intrusive. I can't wait to see where this goes! I've already started forming my theories about the rules of the system
