Overall: This is a really fun take on a new journey for Anakin. It's a cool premise where just about anything could happen, and the nature of his character makes it so that you're always wondering what direction he's gonna go.
Style: The author does a great job setting you in the universe. Something I really enjoyed was that they regularly called attention to smaller details consistent with the SW setting (bacta and that sort of thing.) Good attention to the little details basically. The descriptions of the Force are also a strong point, particularly things related to the dark side and Anakin working through it.
Story: At the time of reviewing, I've read up to chapter 5, and the story really opens up there and comes into its own. I see Anakin taking a sort of ronin-esque journey. The set up is strong, too, and it does well to establish this take on Anakin, but the story really pops off at chapter 4.
Grammar: Solid, everything reads smoothly. Action scenes especially come across really well, with clear descriptions of what's happening. Any issues are minor, just a few instances of repetitious wording and the like.
Character: To start, Anakin's character was done really well and feels very consistent with the source material. The other canon characters were also handled well. The most prominent original character, Slarena, is a big stand out, though. She's a dynamic character who kept me guessing, but with each character moment, I found I liked her more and more.

Sure the blurb tells you this story is going to be a bit different. And it is. The first 30 or so chapters roll along while deconstructing the Star Wars Universe in a somewhat expected if novel way. And then? Throw away everything you ever thought you "knew" about the Force, and most of the story that you thought you were reading. If you don't want a story that completely destroys all of your most cherished preconceived notions about the Force and Star Wars? Don't read this, because it WILL piss you off. If you're a diehard fan who loves the Jedi and think the Force is the bees knees? You're going to have a bad time. However, if you've at some point harbored the feeling that having a semi-sentient all knowing veritably omniscient Power sometimes controlling your actions....might not be a terribly good thing? This might be the story for you. It certainly is for me.

This story explores aspects of the Force and the shortcomings of the Jedi in a way that fans have always wished the movies would, partially through the point of view of an extradimensional being new to the galaxy. It's a fun take on Anakin's younger years as a Jedi and features original characters that feel like they truly belong in the Star Wars galaxy. A stoic Jedi master, a scoundrel-esque former slave and grimy space pirates all help the story feel at once grounded in real human foibles and larger than life. That's where the magic of Star Wars has always lied for me. The pre-existing characters are portrayed well, something many Star Wars book seem to struggle with. Obi-Wan is written particularly well, I can hear Ewan McGregor delivering the lines in my head.
The storyline, which I won't spoil here, had me intrigued from page one and got more interesting as it went on. Suffice it to say I've always liked the tropes that Anakin's relationship with Draeth is rooted in, though it's a unique twist on them.
Occasional quibbles with the style of the prose aside, I've really enjoyed this story so far, and I'm excited to see where it goes.

I don't usually read fanfiction. I don't normally like fanfiction. This fanfiction however was thoroughly entertaining and engaging. This is an alternate version of what could have happened to Anakin Sky walker if he was possessed by a creature that is able to give him new powers in return for him giving up the mission of the "chosen one". It explains to Anakin that bringing true balance to the force will mean he will lose everything he loves, and he will be forced to destroy the Jedi order. Anakin decides to carve a new path to create a far better future.
That simple description of the general plot does not do this story justice. However, what makes this story great is how well written it is. Each chapter is engaging and exciting. There is fast paced action with real tension and credible threats. The characters are multi-dimensional and are well developed. Their actions are internally consistent and logical for their character.
The grammar and spell were very good. There were some minor issues in the chapters I have read but the author was quick to fix them and there are no issues now.
As far as world building the author does include some world building with the new characters and concepts that he introduces, however he gets a lot of help with the fact that starwars already have a richly developed world to start with. However, the author does not only depend on what was created before him in this world but creates new and interesting things to make this story his own.
This story was very well executed, and it will continue reading it. You should definitely give it a read.

I'll go through each section :
    Overall:
This fan fiction is based on Star Wars. I'll be honest—I'm not deeply familiar with the Star Wars universe, but I was able to follow the story easily, thanks to the author's helpful notes. The narrative is smooth and engaging, making it enjoyable even for readers like me who aren't die-hard fans.
    Style:
The author's writing style is clear and accessible, striking a balance between simplicity and complexity in word choice. I would, however, suggest incorporating bold and italic formatting for emphasis, especially in dialogues or pivotal moments. This could add more depth and make the text more interactive for readers. That said, I didn't notice any pacing or transitioning issues, which is a huge plus.
    Story:
Since this is a fan fiction, the plot naturally draws inspiration from the Star Wars universe. While I can't comment on how closely it aligns with the original canon (due to my limited familiarity with Star Wars), I can say the story was enjoyable and felt coherent. It stood on its own, which is commendable.
    Characters:
The portrayal of Anakin Skywalker is a highlight of this story. The author successfully captures the essence of a young, conflicted Anakin—both heroic and deeply flawed—staying true to his depiction in the Star Wars saga. This nuanced portrayal added emotional depth to the narrative.
Tho, sometimes I feel like dialogues aren't true to their nature and this is completely my own personal opinion, like if for Anakin, a mix of confidence and insecurity could make his dialogues more compelling.
    Grammar:
Grammar isn't my strong suit, so I typically don't critique it in detail. That said, the text flowed naturally, and I didn't encounter any glaring errors that disrupted my reading experience. For me, it's a solid full marks here.

This story started off interesting enough. I appreciated that it got to the deviation from canon right away. Unfortunately it only gets worse from there as the story undergoes narrative and tonal shifts again and again. And through it all is the dawning realization that there is no satisfying purpose behind such a jarring read. Instead it is as if the author simply became bored of the current plot and/or distracted by another idea. And it's not as if that wouldn't work, but there still needs to be some amount of effort put into connecting these disparate pieces. And unfortunately that's just not here.
As for characters, Anakin often takes a backseat in the story. When he is in focus he comes off as flat most of the time (except for the out of nowhere rants that feel more awkward than cathartic). The rest of the characters are even more one note. Those against the protagonists are flanderized to mustache twirling levels. Those neutral or with the protagonists are similarly distilled to one or two aspects of their original character even when they are the POV of a chapter.
Ultimately, I do not feel that this story lived up to its premise or the promise of it's start. I appreciated how much thought the author put into creating their own AU of Star Wars and their desire to approach from unique perspectives. However, for me, the story did not live up to that effort.

This story is on the same wavelength as the last movie of the sequel trilogy, where stuff just happens. Then there's explosions and I'm sure stormtroopers fly now, too. Even if it's a fanfiction "that's not how the force works". The grammar is mostly ok, while sometimes words go missing or mixed up.
