Computational Mage

A nameless orphan who spent his first life stuck in a broken body. Weak. Helpless. Completely at the mercy of a world that had already decided he wasn’t worth much. Found himself as a first trial user for a Neuralink implant surgery in the hopes of becoming ‘normal,’ however the procedure went sideways, and now he’s... not alive anymore? Well at least that was what he thought initially, but instead, he wakes up in another body, and in a different world full of magic, danger, and more opportunities than he’s ever had before.

Also, his Neuralink has miraculously fused to his soul. Which, as it turns out, is pretty handy. Instant knowledge processing, awesome functions, and a built-in AI companion with 'no' personality? Yeah, he can work with that.

On the downside, the new body he now calls his own? Belonged to an Initiate of a mage order that turns ‘awakened’ individuals into ‘proper’ spell casters. The order provides its members with challenging training facilities and difficult yet potentially deadly assignments —you know, the usual. His predecessor though did not even manage to make it to the order’s gates before his mage life started.

Uldric though? (Yes, he took his predecessor’s name.) He’s having the time of his life.

Turns out, when you've already lived through a body that betrayed you at every turn, and now getting thrown into harsh training facilities with occasional deadly battles with monsters, just isn’t that scary, in fact it’s quite thrilling.

While others struggle, he adapts. And while they can barely keep up with the difficult ‘Training’ of the order, he’s starting to think this might be the best thing that has ever happened to him.

Survive? Please. He’s here to thrive.

Of course, nothing is ever that simple. Turns out fusing with a super computing artificial intelligence creates unforeseen emotional and behavioral changes within you. Which in turn creates unforeseen troubles for Uldric.

But hey. That’s a problem for future Uldric. Right now? He’s got magic to master, monsters to kill, and a magical world to explore.
