Description

“People mistake this for a combat game, or even a strategy game. They understand nothing. This is a death game, my dear Sophia, and the victors are simply those that live."

As high school comes to an end, Sophia goes on one last hiking trip with her childhood friend before they part ways. However, everything goes wrong when a mysterious power transports them to a fantasy world, where they're forced to compete in a death game.

The rules are simple: Defeat your enemies in the battle arena, then destroy their base. The winners live. The losers die. Together, Sophia and her friend must craft alliances, survive against enemy teams, and find a way back home.

Three Lane Death Game is an isekai LitRPG that takes inspiration from MOBA games (think League of Legends, DotA 2, etc). This story is written for a general audience, so no knowledge of gaming is needed or expected from readers :)

New chapters will be released weekly on Tuesdays.

Very unconventional story for this site, well written and captivating. It blends the setting well with actual storytelling. Somehow the numbers go up, but there is more to the world than just that.
In the long run, it's certainly dark, despite the upbeat parts, and the author isn't afraid of making it so.

Overall: great concept and interesting execution. The story grips you and doesn't let go.
Style: 1st person PoV, fast-paced, action-packed and self-aware writing style that fits the author and the story they are trying to tell. The action sequences flow well and I am absolutely in love with the skill descriptions.
Story: the story is just getting started, the world-building is smooth and even if you don't know much about MOBA games, you can enjoy the story. There are explanations of the map and the terrain along with a picture of the map which I really appreciated. 4.5 stars because the boss fight in chapter 10-11 was confusing at times.
Characters: while Sophia is well-charectirised and dynamic, Hei fell flat for me. I like the dynamic between the two of them, though. I find Sophia relatable and quite self-aware. I am giving the story 4.5 because it is still early in the story and I expect him and the others to get fleshed out better soon enough. I like Saber and I want to see more character development like that.
Grammar: I'm notoriously bad at finding typos, having said that I didn't find anything and nothing grammar-wise took me out of the story.

The title perfectly describes the story: It's a sort of Isekai into a death game tale where the main protagonist and company must survive, win, conquer and (maybe) go home in the end. That seems to be her goal at least in the beginning.
There are two very cool aspects to this story:
    1. Players can't attack each other, meaning there's a lot more cooperation instead of just everyone backstabbing each other.
    2. The games are quite complex. Perhaps as a result of the first aspect, the crux of the story is discovering and navigating the various challenges presented.
Style: The story is presented from a first person point of view. It takes its time presenting the rules, powers and everything else before diving into the action. This can be a plus for some people, since there isn't as much explaining during the action, and it can be a minus for others who don't like exposition dumps in the beginning.
Grammar: The grammar was good, didn't find any problems.
Story: If you like the genre, then you'll like the story. The plot is very straight forward: Beat the games, get home. If you're expecting complex drama or whatever, then don't read death game Litrpgs:))
Character: The characters seem interesting and distinct. They each fill niche roles based not only on their skills but also on their personalities. There is chemistry between the two leads, and their evolution is enjoyable.
Overall, it's an interesting story with a small twist to the death game genre. I definitely recommend it.

Based on Multiplayer Online Battle Arena — otherwise known as "MOBA" — games, Three Lane Death Game by Deathpacito is a breath of fresh air in the litRPG scene!
Sophia — our protagonist — finds herself in a strange place after a hiking trip with her guy best friend, Hei. After a conversation with a mysterious voice, she now obtains a few things to help her in whatever trial awaits her.
And as the title says, yes, the trial is a death game.
    Style (4.5★):
The story is told in the 1st person POV, with our protagonist as the main focus. However, there are some Interludes where the story shifts, giving us a glimpse into other characters' lives before the story began.
In my limited knowledge and expertise, I didn't find a whole lot of negative things to say regarding style.
Through his words, the author was able to convey the story well enough.
Sophia, as a gamer, had thoughts that I could relate to. Sprinkles of comedy are scattered throughout her narration. And as I don't find omniscient narrators enjoyable, her unreliable voice was quite nice.
The only thing that prevented me from giving this fiction a five star in this section was the noticeably large use of speech tags.
A lot of the times, when the characters are just talking, the story suffers from what is known as "the talking heads syndrome", where it's just "he said" "she said" then "he replied" yadda yadda.
It isn't that big of a deal, but I just found it frustrating at times. Though, that may just be me.
Which is why I only took out half a star from the perfect score.
    4.5 out of 5 stars.
    Grammar (5★):
    No complaints here.
The author either has a good command of the English language or this work is meticulously edited. Or both.
    Yeah, it's probably both.
Anyway, grammar's all good. People who flinch when they have to autocorrect a sentence in their head can read this with peace of mind.
    5 out of 5 stars.
    Story (5★):
The constant threat of the Death Game guarantees constant tension throughout the story.

I mean, this straight up tickles my fancy as a league player, so i might be a little bit biased.
However, I stand my ground when i say that this novel is very nice. It's lighthearted and wholesome, with lots of characters who dont make an unnecessary fuss beyon the occasional axe to the face. (Which does no damage due to in-universe mechanics that do save us a headache)
The grammar is perfect, and I haven't spotted a single error.
The story starts off quite slow, but then the pace picks up nicely. We are introduced to our main character and point of view narrator and her friend, then to a gradually growing cast until we reach the right size for a league/dota game. Then we are introduced to the game mechanics and magic system. It's nice to read even for someone who, like myself, has extensive knowledge of the games in question.
the author took the time to rework some parts, and overall makes the discovery process exciting and interesting. We are not presented with infodumps not even when the nerdy character whose role early on is clearly exposition comes on board. It's neat, nice and tidy although sometimes it sacrifices realism and character tightness. I am a subscriber of readability over nitpicking, though, therefore instead of subtracting stars for this i will add them!
as we were, the characters. They are quite simple at first, but well characterized. Again, i am a bit of a deviant in the fact that i dont think we need deep characters at all costs, but we need unique, interesting ones. And we do have them. Depth comes naturally afterwards, which is always a bonus. The good thing about having unique and a bit over the top character is that they are very recognizable and memorable too, and the depth of their personality comes naturally from their interactions. Humans have a so-called theory of mind, and the author's works very well. New little details come afloat all the time, enriching the experience.
I look forward to seeing the novel grow more!

I will gave to admit that the start was slow and I wouldn't have stayed, if it wasn't recommended by MDW. But after that, the story is very good. The battle explanations are simple and easy to comprehend and if you gave played moba games, it is very easy to immerse yourself into the ambience.

Fun start for any moba fans. Saw a good bit of it coming from the start, but that's not a bad thing. Characters are interesting and realistic. Mechanics are on the slow side, but that isn't a bad thing to avoid huge power creep early. Very excited to keep reading.

When childhood friends make the atttempt to have one last adventure before moving onto higher education, they find themselves thrust into a battle world.
In this new place magic exists. Monsters hunger for their blood, and the only way to survive is by teaming up with other refugess and conqure the Three Lane Death Game.
This story is done in a Michael Bay like action packed slaughterfest. Fast paced and racus, you learn the characters mostly by their actions, and breif glimpsts into their past. Pay attention because there's little time for tears or self reflection, the hits just keep coming!
I'm not the person to judge grammer, but like all of these efforts on RR, there does some to be some proof reading that could be done. Enough Said.
Crunchy where it is supposed to be Crunchy, without the stats becoming intrustive. In this story we see essesntially the Open Battle Ground style of RPG adventure. Work together, survive the mission, and kill the enemy!  Like in the game the idea isn't to know the back story of every character, its about the fight for survival right freaking now!
Character Score: Powerful characters, Atlas, Sabar, Becky and of course more main heros are dynamic and interesting in their own right. I was never sure if I trust Atlas, and Sophia was always just a bit nieve, but with the forever cool Hei by her side your faith in their destiny is always growing.
I dropped this down to four stars because of the style of the story, the characters were not really allowed to develop a richness and depth, but than again it is a MOBG RPG.

3 Lane Death Game is a story about a team unexpectedly put itogether for some unknown and strange purpose. There's a lot of interesting magic, a lot of cretivity, and friendship during incredibly difficult circumstances. It's well-paced on both a large and small scale. It's intruiguining. One warning: you won't want to wait to read the next chapter!

Overall: I very much enjoyed the variety of illustrations sprinkled throughout the chapters to depict the game's map mechanics. And the concept itself is genuinely fascinating! The author did a wonderful job of maintaining our protagonist's confusion and stumbling state-of-mind as they are left reeling from such a transition to another world as they understand it. And that thought-out process of gradually uncovering the mystery behind their situation was marvelously depicted through internal and verbal dialogue.
Story: Well-paced, though not without its bumpy roads. Taking the essence of a MOBA and transfering into a vivid story is a novel idea, one that I had never even considered for a LitRPG, and I have to give credit where credit is due: The author did very well with introducing the idea to those who may not be familiar. Something I should also mention is that I actually felt something while reading! I was so ensnared for some portions that I was right there alongside out characters. Not easy to do, and even harder to consistently execute. Well done!
Style: The pacing of combat descriptions are good, but... stilted? Perhaps even that isn't the proper word for it, maybe it's more along the lines of: I really wanted to feel something dramatic and impactful about the combat. Something I have recently been using as a general referrance to LitRPG combat scenes is Defiance of the Fall, which effortlesly joins that use of items, attributes, and abilites in a way that flows across the page. This is the only stumbling block I sincerely felt when reading. Otherwise? Superb.
Grammar: Nothing stood out against the page to me, and I followed along the entire time. No issues, and very good punctuation.
Characters: Internal dialogue and emotions are well-explained. A charcater's thoughts, fears, desires, and goals are well-outlined in a pacing that doesn't detract from the story's flow in any regard. And I truly appreciate an author who can tackle that psychological factor inv
