- DreamingJadeRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5This review will contain spoilers for the first five chapters.
To start off with, I'll say this: the concept is great, and I could see it becoming a great novel, but this is paced a bit too quickly in my opinion, for example (Chapter 2 Spoilers)
His entire childhood was skipped, and he went to his first day of school in Chapter 2.
On top of this quick pacing, the novel doesn't go very in-depth on much of anything; the current world building and characters are shallow, but I sincerely think that this may just be a lack of further chapters currently, and I think it could improve over time.
From what I've seen and read, the story has barely had any grammatical errors. And it's not hard to read or understand. My only complaint here would be the length of the chapters. It took me about 15–20 minutes to read the entire story (5 chapters as of now), which will most likely improve as more chapters are released.
The characters have simply not been given enough time to develop, and if the pace of the story continues, I fear they won't. I would say that as of now, the only character that doesn't feel like a cardboard cutout is the main character, and that's mostly thanks to his tragic past and experiences.
There really isn't much to say about the story so far; it's shallow, but I can't really expect more from a novel that's 5 chapters long so far, and I'm sure the author will improve and make this story better as time goes on.
I'll end off this review here and say this: Author, continue writing if you enjoy it. I believe this has the possibility of making a great novel. Don't be discouraged; Rome wasn't built in a day after all.
I also apologize if this review was weirdly formatted, this is my first time writing a review on phone.
