Description
In a world caught between the age of steam and technological revolution, humanity stands on the brink of a promising future. Great industrial nations like the Federal Republic of Ferrostan dominate the global landscape with their cities of steel, armed zeppelins, and labor automatons. Space exploration takes its first steps, while in the streets, the roar of diesel engines mingles with the hiss of steam.
However, this dream of progress is brutally interrupted in 1930 when visitors from the stars descend upon the world. The alien invasion plunges the lands into chaos of unimaginable proportions. Entire cities are razed, extraterrestrial technology defies all understanding, and humanity is forced to fight for its survival.
Amid this desperate war, a new era of heroes and villains emerges. Intrepid adventurers, brilliant scientists, and valiant soldiers rise to face the threat. Using a blend of human ingenuity and captured alien technology, these pioneers explore mysterious ruins, unravel cosmic secrets, and fight in epic battles that will determine the fate of the planet.

Greetings, intrepid adventurers and science fiction lovers! I'm excited to share with you my first story on RoyalRoad.com. Get ready for a journey full of action, mystery, and retro-futuristic technology in this 4-chapter mini-series I've prepared for you.
This story was born after completing the Gygax75 challenge, a fascinating experience that helped me shape this unique world. If you want to know more about this creative process, you can take a look at my website: https://edrperez.com/zorro-lunas/etiqueta/gygax75 Is my little homage to science fiction classics and adventure movies that have made us dream so much. If you're a fan of "Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow" or "The Rocketeer", you'll feel right at home. While followers of "The Great Martian War 1913-1917" and "The War of the Worlds" will recognize the spirit of alien invasion. And Harry Turtledove's "Worldwar" books have been a great source of inspiration for the alternative history.
I can't forget to thank my incredible friend and reviewer Elibeth ( ̄ω ̄) for her support and valuable advice. Without her, this adventure wouldn't be the same!
Imagine the year 1931, but not as we know it. Here, the roar of diesel engines mingles with the buzz of strange machines, and factory smoke rises towards a sky threatened by alien ships. That's right, friends! We're talking pure dieselpunk with a good dose of alien invasion. I hope you enjoy reading this story as much as I enjoyed writing it!
So, tighten those boot laces and get ready for a ground-shaking adventure! The invasion is coming, and we're facing it head-on - no airships required! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
P.S. The publication will likely be on a weekly basis. The original is written in Spanish, and this is a machine translation. The cover was created using an image generated by DALL-E 3 and designed with Canva. (´・ω・`)

- KingofPizzaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Dieselpunk is not really a genre that I reach for when I want something to read, but this story is not bad.
The author did a pretty good job pulling me in and making me curious about the aliens and the world, and the descriptions were detailed enough to give my imagination what it needed to paint my own picture without being too wordy.

UPDATE
I really enjoyed reading this story; my first impression of the Dieselpunk genre is good one!
Amelia and her crew lead the charge against the douchebag aliens who take it upon themselves to crush and enslave humanity.
Not to spoil too much, but there are a couple of minor twists and turns to keep things fresh and wondering what might happen next.
Still, the story is simple and to-the-point; it entertains without overstaying its welcome... But, I kind wish it had stayed just a bit longer.
While I understand it is a short story, I felt like it deserved to have one more chapter to wrap things up.
On the whole, very nice. It's the best short story I've read in a while, even if it ended a bit abruptly!
And don't forget: watch the skies!
