Story: The young son of the "Balmung" family is five years old and excited to discover the darkness-based powers he inherited from his family. To his, and especially his father's disappointment, the MC's powers don't manifest. The young sun spends the first few chapters trying to figure out why and find answers to whatever is wrong with his ability manifestation. I found the story gripping and compelling, and I'm sure it will get even more interesting as it goes on. 5/5
Style: The pace is quick, and the descriptions are on point for what needs describing.
I found it odd the author used ' instead of italics to convey personal thought. Sometimes I was confused about what I was reading when having the MCs thoughts interwoven into dialogue. 4.5/5
Grammar: I didn't find too many issues with grammar, outside of stylistic choices that I don't even think are errors. 4.5/5
Character: This is the part of the story that I could suspend my disbelief enough for. The Father was well written, and his behavior was even understandable. The son, however, left me scratching my head at times.
I know he's supposed to be really smart for his age, but in my mind, he doesn't sound five years old; he sounds at least 12-14 just from how he talks. Maybe it's just me, and perhaps a more in-depth explanation will come along; for now, tho-4/5
Overall: This is a good story worth your time, with a memorable protagonist, exciting setting, family dynamics, and lineage-based powers. As long as you can look past the small shortcomings/oddities! 4.5/5

Oh man, the first few chapters of this gave me PTSD (conditional love from parents + the emotional damage), but like in a good way. There were quite a few parts of the story that made me laugh out loud, and then others that made me want to cry.
Style: Overall, I really like the style of this story. It is fast-paced, and the writing is adept at making you root for the MC. There are also absolute stunners like these:
He was in shape — a circle — but despite his regal chubbiness
One thing that I have to point out is the use of single quotations such as this line:
‘Who the hell is that lunatic?’ I thought instinctively. His over reverential attitude irking me.
If the MC is thinking something, you do not need quotes or italics or anything like that. Just write:
Who the hell was that lunatic? His overly reverential attitude irked me.
And leave out the dialogue tag. In addition, there are some points in the later chapters where I have no idea who is speaking, because sometimes dialogues that are in separate paragraphs belong to the same person, so there is no distinction between who is speaking.
Story: The story is exactly what it says it is, a dramatic tragedy with fantasy elements.
Grammar: There are little grammar errors such as missing punctuation marks and capitalization when words should not be capitalized (dialogue tags).
There are some larger grammar issues that make reading the story confusing:
The servants too looked odd, but differently. Despite the muted colors of their clothing, one would have been excused to confuse them with members of the nobility.
I have no idea what the two above sentences mean.
Character: Okay, so I love the MC. He is a likable character, and you feel sorry for his unfortunate situation. The other characters also feel very realistic, and they each have their own personalities.
But but but… Why is the MC such a genius at the age of 5? The way he talks and thinks through things indicates he is at least a teenager, but I will suspend my dis

The mark of a good serial webnovel is if it gets you coming back for more, refreshing your page to see if the next chapter is up yet. This story achieves that, while it’s not guaranteed that you’ll love it, you won’t regret giving it a chance.
The premise likely isn’t something entirely new to you, a noble child is cast out of his house by unfortunate circumstances, in this case lacking a mana core, and he leaves to go on a quest to grow stronger than anyone could have anticipated (We’re not there yet, but it’s assuredly coming). The setting is interesting, hinting at a greater world of factions, politics, religion, and monsters that are yet to be fully revealed. In the same way, this story isn’t in a rush to show you an OP protagonist bullying all the pitifully weak villains, instead giving Helmet some room to grow as a character, and to develop his power. This sets a great groundwork for what’s to come. When he starts winning fights, it’ll be made that much more satisfying for the wait.
I’ve already mentioned that I quite like the pacing of this, and I’m sure it’ll pay off in the end, but while it’s ‘slow’ in that Helmet isn’t OP yet, it’s not to say it’s ever dreary, there is something new happening every chapter to keep you drawn in as our little Helmet works to overcome his challenges. The paragraph-to-paragraph writing is never slow but isn’t at such a fast pace that we have no room to breathe either. Perfect for a serial webnovel like this. One issue that does come up at times, however, is that sometimes it can be difficult to keep up with the dialogue and understand who is saying what. Usually, a quick reread will get you back on track, but it can break your reading experience a little.
There is a small grammar issue every other chapter, but nothing that ever takes you out of the moment, or at least it didn't for me.
Our protagonist, Helmet, though sometimes he goes by other names, is an unusual little child. I expect some readers to have trouble liking him

Overall: The story is good and has a nice premise. I like the world and most of the characters. But a lot of it also feels fast.
Style: There is a lot of dialogue in this story. Paragraphs are short and it can skip about a lot. Several chapters are entirely one-line paragraphs filled with conversation and mininal action. There is also a lot of making the dialogue expressive- all capital letters, spelling out things like 'aaaaaahhhh' and 'hahahah' and the like. But the further you read you can see that the author is getting better as he goes along.
Grammar: It isn't very bad but you can see that the grammar and the style should be given a once-over, especially for the earlier chapters. But it gets better as the story goes along.
Story: It's an underdog story. The firstborn child of a noble has no magic, while coming from a lineage of mages. There's family drama too, with how his family (father) treats him after that. It'll be nice to see him grow and get better and be able to eventually say "I told you so"
Characters: I do like the characters and our main character. The prologue includes a story about the main character's ancestor, and honestly that story sounds like it would be a great prequel book series too.
