Christmas Noctis (Noctis 3)
Community Rating
Description
Emerra Cole would have to be a lot deader than she is to stop celebrating Christmas. Her enthusiasm for the season is only matched by the indifference of everyone else in the Noctis household. If she wants all those cookies and Christmas lights, she’ll have to convince Big Jacky, the embodiment of death, and everyone else that they’re missing out. Good thing, she’s up for the task.
The snow took care of itself, so Emerra only has to get the mansion ready. It wouldn’t be a traditional Christmas without trees, decorations, and…three ghosts.
The unusual visitors pose a major puzzle since no one knows who they are or how they got inside—or if they have anything to do with the strange things that start happening in town. The crew needs to dig up some history and revive the ghosts’ decayed memories before more people die.
Tis’ the season for a haunting.

- A slothRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I’m not sure if it’s actual magic or just great writing, but each one of these books is my new favorite in the series, and that’s doubly true for this one. On a related note, I was very hesitant about the Christmas element of this book coming into it, but rkgoff blew me out of the water with how well the holiday was woven into the narrative in a way that was enjoyable and sweet without once being cloying.
- CrassBirdRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A perfect Christmas story - it pulls of the very tricky task of being scary and charming all at once.
This story is filled with loveable characters and has a fantastic plot with beautiful ups and heart wrenching downs. It's so well paced that I genuinely struggled to put it down.
I will 100% be revisiting this story at Christmas! - KJayRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Amazing writing! The dialogues are first class and I read through all available books in a week because they kept me hooked real good! Also I did not know that I needed a "fantasy crime" crossover genre but now I want more!

Obligatory fifty words extension to fill the word count. - RandomNEETGuyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0... I generally dislike christmas stories, christmas specials and all that jazz, because they are usually too cliche and either mess up characterization or have lousy plot.
This book did not, in fact, have those problems, which after the last two, did not surprise me in the least.
The third installment in the Noctis series lived up to its predecessors in interesting plot, amazingly alive characters and onion-ninja-calling emotional moments.
While personally I found our 3 whole encounters with our resident villain a tad too little, it worked out very well, especially since his skulking around was done to give more time for interactions between characters, and the characters in the series still rock.
I'm glad we are getting less of "Olivia is a bitch" and more of "Olivia is a witch", and of course the rest of the residents do their fair share of interesting and fun stuff too.
Emerra didn't develop too much as a character this time, but she did learn some lessons, so there's that.
Overall, a read I'd recommend if you have enjoyed the previous two books. - RuefulRespiteRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This installment in the Noctis series is truly a special one, I think. This is book three, and we've truly gotten to get a feel for all of the main cast by now. Everybody loves a good Christmas story, and this book truly highlights the relationships and genuine love that these characters have for one another. The actual Christmas day scene genuinely warms your heart.
But, besides the holiday vibes, the mystery of the book is phenomenal too! The new characters introduced in this issue of Noctis connect with you right away, and the main antagonist is legitimately unnerving. This one was definitely an emotional roller-coaster in a lot of ways.
The series is only getting better with time. This one has probably been my favorite thus far, and I look forward to seeing what comes next with our favorite found family! - Aaron NelRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5One of my new favorite authors, has produced a great story.
This action adventure mystery at Christmas time. With a bit of ghost and other monsters. Her really relatable MC and cast of characters make this a joy to read.
Her sussinct depections of their interactions with the unraveling plot a pleasure to read.
