Pan made it to the 42ndGames, the most prestigious tournament in all eight immortal cities, recently reduced from nine.

No one expected him to win his duel. Being a Rat from the 4thCity, the Hunters of the 3rdCity did notwanthim to win. Pan was fine with that. He only needed to get attention, to show someone out there his potential.He could have became a Hunter that hunted the monsters outside the walls, or maybe a Duelist that mastered fighting and movement in arenas. He and his siblings would have tasted fruit for the first time.

Pan showed them his potential, and he got attention, but made the mistake of winning, and attractingtoomuch attention.

Now, with half the city wanting his life, and the other wanting him to start a revolution, Pan will be forced to seek help from the same Nightmare that destroyed his city, while struggling to discover how his powers worked, and a dark history that was erased.
