- BookWork101Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0first chapter pulled me in right from the start. The way you described Sesia’s ruins was haunting! I could almost feel the ash clinging to the air. The demon reveal was fantastic too, properly unsettling with the whole reality-warping presence. What I really liked, though, was how Alexandre isn’t just a typical ‘monster hunter.’ He’s powerful, sure, but clearly burdened by his past and the people he’s lost, which makes him feel layered and human. If I had one tiny note, it’s that some of the descriptions lingered a bit long, but overall, the pacing still kept me hooked. The jaguar transformation was brutal in the best way, and the ending hit perfectly, leaving me both satisfied and eager to see what comes next. Honestly, one of my fav books so far.”
