Description

Roman Miller, once a rising star of the mixed martial arts world, disappeared from the public spotlight following a controversial loss. A year later, he's ready to step foot in the ring once more, but on the night of his little-anticipated fight calamity befalls the entire galaxy.

Unfathomable beings of cruel and capricious fancy claim the stars now belong to them; for their eternal entertainment, the survivors are forced to participate in a battle royale, governed by a system designed to drive them mad.

Roman's not happy about it, but he may be better suited for this new world than the old one. He's not unfamiliar with his every move being watched by judging eyes, even if these eldritch horrors have more than he's used to.

What to expect:

- 1-2x week releases

- strong antihero single POV MC with some interludes, not completely OP or lucky

- medium-paced progression

- sys apoc w/ cosmic horror, body horror, litrpg and some cultivation elements, some minor dark comedy

- will feature some dungeon delving

Good eldritch lit-rpg stories are hard to come across. I read it all the way up to chapter 17 in a single go. Reminds me of scorched earth (and some others I can't recall the name of right now), but it feels more natural and alive than what that became in the end. These kinds of stories are my favorite, my imagination goes wild for it, so as long as the author keeps writing this story and putting the care I've felt so far into it, I'll keep reading it. The atmosphere is one without hope and full of madness. Lots of good imagery, already just in the beginning of the story there are ephemereal wraiths that are mere shells of the people they once were, sentient blackholes, tendrils coming out of the moon, reality-warping and emissaries from the beyond abound. Its a story that has lit-rpg elements but its more like the system is just a framework for the recipient to better organize eldritch abilities and manifestations. Again, it feels more alive and free for potential than the more cut and dry lit-rpg's that sputter out after running into a wall that is so common. I have high hopes for this one. Give it a go.

This story  seem to have a similar feeling to new world (one of the best litrpg in this site) with the presence of an interesting MC whose background is in martial arts, and an interesting personality. author doesn't fall in Mistakes to make his MC , thoroughly average , but somehow capable of conquering the universe ( I mean come on , the average guy can't handle a fuc.ing cold shower , and now he should be able to become a battle hardened conqueror??).
However this is not the case of Roman. He has Always had a particular personality ,which might enable him to thrive upon this violent world . Author made a truly great representation of antihero .
His side characters are also pretty interesting, and add a bit of light to an otherwise truly dark story .
Style: third person narrative, well written with little to no errors. Author has already published a book and it shows. He has a great capability in bringing his world to life . The only weird thing is the repetition of the word "I reckon", noticed that quite a lot character say it , in earlier chapters. I believe author should use different words. with the same meaning.
Themes: Eldritch beings ,badass Mc whose powers are earned and which makes the whole levelling stuff really satisfactory. We are afterall litrpg fans. Seeing those numbers increase is like drugs.
Honestly I would suggest you to check it out, you won't be disappointed .

I admit, I didn't have high expectations going in, given how mediocre most litrpg apocalypse stories tend to be. What I got was much better than I'd hoped.
Grammer - Good, I didn't notice any mistakes, but I tend to gloss over those.
Characters - Realistic and with convincing interactions. I love the characters and I just wish they don't die so fast.
Style - I love the style. It gives enough information to tell you what's going on but not enough to overload and the fights and gory scenes are brilliantly written
Plot - Good, but it's been slow and so far, there is no overarching plot to draw me in. Most of the conflict is just for survival.

Interesting take on post apocalypse story.
So pretty early to give it a full review but as of now it has potential.
The MC is a bit of an ass hole but has enough humanity to worry about that fact as opposed to the usual anti heroes or inevitable kingdom builders that populate the genre. That said only two real side characters for him to play off of so its still wait and see how it grows.
There a few typos but no broken English and unnecessary info dumps (still some but not pages and pages worth of common sense)
Worth a follow but might let it build up to binge.
