Just read through the story today. It's definitely one of the books I'll be checking on every so often rather than chomping at the bit for the next chapter.
Predominantly due to the story's pacing.
Lots of potential. Well written combat scenes. I'm only worried about how lemons will be treated. So far there is more of a focus on gore and less on lemons (sex scenes involving characters from the source material). This makes me worried about rating it as a 4.5 when I still haven't seen any examples of explicit content.
(It's always a challenge to write good smut in a complex story without it devolving into nothing but erotic fiction). I do hope (if a few pieces of foreshadowing are true) the author will stay on course and continue with the same quality as is written so far!
Can't wait for more to read!

This Naruto fanfic is different than most in that it takes place further back in time than the vast majority which seem to only be interested in inserting themselves as a character or inserting their OC into Naruto's plot. While I am not a huge fan of the mc's womanizing behavior, he is consistently written. The fight scenes are descriptive and easy to understand, so props for that. I have two concerns for this story:
1) Power creep ruining tension
Where the mc sits as of Chapter 20, is upper middle tier in my opinion. I am worried he will get too strong too fast and this will ruin my interest in what he does later on.
2) Smut becoming the main focus of the story
This is mostly a subjective thing- those aren't the types of stories I'm interested in. If the author does go that route, I wouldn't say that makes the story inherently worse, but the quality of those types of stories often decreases and I would eventually stop reading it if it stayed that way.

There isn't much character development but i am not really one to get stuck upon it, and i have nothing against protagonists ambitions of a harem, but Man does rampant misogyny grate on the nerves sometimes.
