- ARDA ATMACARoyal Roadβ β β β β 5.0Reading this for free is crazy. I am simply astonished by how amazing the world building, the characters and all the story telling elements are used in such harmony. This book has so many hooks (which all feel very natural and not at all overwhelming somehow) that I keep thinking to myself how it will turn out throughout my day.
The dialogs feel natural and every character's dialog is so characteristic and well placed which makes it so I never need to think twice to understand who is speaking-my brain can literally read the text with the charzcters voice from the very first few words.
The story is extremely fun to read. I love how the POV of the story changes between the three main characters which I havent senn done like this before. It becomes especially entertraining when the characters are together so that we can see how they view each other.
Another thing I love is how easy it is to resonet with the characters. I am 20, but rhe struggles of the main trio who are about 12 years old are so fundamental, its hard not to emphasize with them. If anything, their straight forwardness makes it clearer what the struggles cores are, since adults mood tend to have many layers to them, at times to such extends, that it is hard to explain why you are mad or happy yourself.
It is a book that sucseeded in making me laugh out loud, look at the screen for a straight minute due to shock, get in my nightmares and many more things that I dont even know how I can show my gratitude to the author.
Reading this book motivated me to write my own. I know it isnt much, but the author gets a chefs kiss from meπ - AshroBuggerRoyal Roadβ β β β β 5.0You got this, you got this, keep on going.
This is early review for ya'. So keep on going.
I would focuse on the idea of not going GOD MODE and PERFECT PERSON EVER for main character, because that would ruin the story. And also focuse on use differnt words, but not words that no one understand except 80s.
You can improve in writing, but that already good enough. And haven't read much story yet so dunno. I'll update this for later.
Also here's 5-stars
Brick-San approval. - DrunkBlazeRoyal Roadβ β β β β 5.0I know it looks pretty daunting with the chapter numbers and still saying great setup but, that's actually a really good thing.
It's still early days but, it's incredibly fleshed out. the story has been great and the characters even better.
World building is fantastic and with 3 perspectives makes you see things from all the major angles of how people see the world. I think most people agree Amaro's persepctive is their least like and yet it's important, doesn't feel like it drags things out and explains how nobility actually functions.
again it's still the first major arc out of the initial setup really and only just hooking into the real meat of the plot but, it's good.
tl;dr: read it. you won't regret it. - Grubbing00dRoyal Roadβ β β β β 5.0This is honestly one of the better stories I've read on RR in quite a long time and I'm surprised it hasn't gotten more traction. The characters are dynamic, unique, and intersting. So many times a book will get dragged down by multiple POV's because, honestly, the characters just aren't that compelling or fun to read about. That isn't the case here. All three main characters are engaging in their own way and advance the main storyline meaningfully.
I will say this story touches on some more mature themes beyond just standard fantasy violence so be prepared for that.
All in all I would highly recommend this to anyone who's looking for a great story that's a break from some of the more standard RR fare. I hope the author keeps with it because this isΒ a fantastic story that I would love to see finished. - HS13Royal Roadβ β β β β 5.0Love the characters, the world, the style, and the pacing. Been helping critique and I love how this has been evolving and growing and it only gets better as time goes on, I look forward to reading even more of the book and even more from the author.Β Great things to come for sure.
- bencel88Royal Roadβ β β β β 5.0This is an epic story which is a story that has a large scope in terms of the plot and characters. The story also is good enough to question why this isn't more popular.
Nobody is perfect so although the overall score is the maximum the category scores will not be perfect as there is always room for improvement.
The style of the fiction is very easy to follow, I'm not really a fan of scenery descriptions and maybe this story does not describe the places often but that's just a point in my opinion as the story focuses on character interactions more. Or maybe I haven't noticed it.
The story is great too. There are many arcs happening simultaneously and each of the POV has a direction on where it wants to go. There is payoff at each arc and you see progress being made as the chapters continue. I like that while there is the bigger picture there are some breather moments, where not everything is about the plot and not everything is gloomy and serious.
Grammar is nice. I may have noticed an error here and there but it didn't really distract me from the story.
This story has great characters. The three main characters are distinct and have their own values that while may seem similar at first does diverge as they discover the world and themselves. I like how at the end of the day, all of them act in accordance to the wellbeing of their loved ones. There isn't a villain that's just evil. There are evil actions, but not just evil people
Overall give it a read, maybe this story will fill your time. - luda305Royal Roadβ β β β β 5.0It's really written quite well. Xianxia, but with a more western style multi POV story structure. Great characters. Great grammar. Great style.
The world setting is pretty depressing though. Like it's really fucked up and they're knee deep into it. Common with xianxia, though I feel it hits a bit harder and closer to home here. - Ser Patrick PentRoyal Roadβ β β β β 5.0I like me a good dose of high fantasy. I went into this story with high expectations, and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Champions of Itaro could pass for a traditionally-published work with a little more editing. Dreiki, Kaara and Amaro have some of the best characterization I have seen on the site. It's not often you see a Royal Road story that pulls off great characterization on its main character, and it is even rarer to find one that does so with three MCs!
Scrittus has done an amazing job crafting this, and you can tell by the amount of love and thought poured into the worldbuilding. I'd be following this one for a while yet. 5/5! - JujubeanzRoyal Roadβ β β β β 4.5Definitely a hidden gem that follows more of a traditional novel format as oppposed to a webserial. Likely why it isn't getting the attention it deserves. It started somewhat slow but if you give it time the characters will grow on you. If there was an issue I have with the novel it's there lack of tension and the abundance of exposition and training we get in the beginning. It's more of a preference than an actual mark against the quality of the text though so I'm giving it a 4.5/5 because there still some minor spelling issues and immersion breaking POV swaps in the introductory phase of the novel, though it becomes less prominent as the mcs cross paths
- KwhetzalcoatlRoyal Roadβ β β β 4.0This review is only my feelings and personal interpretation. If the author wants to clarify any incorrect interpretations, they can.
Overall, I really enjoyed this novel and seeing it finished is something I look forward to. I may not have much in terms of critique, as I have trouble putting things like that in the right words, but I feel confident enough to state what I liked.
The style of this fiction is fun and gives plenty of what the characters are thinking, but a lack of thorough description for the characters' surroundings drops my rating from a 5/5 to a 4.5/5. There is nothing inherently bad about the style, only what I prefer and my personal writing style influences this review.
I gave a 4.5/5 for grammar, but only because it's unfinished. I know time will fix the grammar mistakes.
Story is a 3.5/5 only because this work of fiction isn't complete. If finished, I would have given it a 4/5 as the story overall did not catch my full attention until several chapters in. Though I suppose that is just my prejudice talkin', as few books have captivated me in the first chapters.
The characters themselves have distinct charms, thus the 4/5. However, my personal convictions lead me to this almost perfect score. Dreiki Is naturally smart, yet I felt he lacked backbone. Maybe it's because he's still young, or isn't the type of person to defend himself when he really should. Could even be because of what he was born as, and defending himself in social interactions with that kind of birth could hurt him. Whatever the intentions with him in the future, I hope he learns to take a lot less heat from others. Kaara is a lot of fun, her curse is interesting and I feel it may be more that what she believes it to be. I haven't much issue with her, yet one thing I can say I disliked about her is how two-faced she can be. That isn't to say she is a two-faced bitch. Just I feel she shouldn't worry about hiding how she really feels or true thoughts from people as much as she does. T
