In preparation for a war of cosmic proportions, humanity is thrust into a trial by primordial beings.

With it comes a baptism of natural disasters and unending waves of monsters that throw Earth's central powers into disarray. Cities fall, nations split, and society is halted in its tracks; however, those strong enough to overcome it all are rewarded with power rivaling heroes of legend and myth.

No one can escape the trial, not even those living on the edges of human civilization. The crucible of growth is set.

Four siblings—war orphans—return to their home in search of what they lost. All that's left are empty villages and barren fields. Instead, they join a relief program, restoring life in the affected areas as a means of healing and closure.

The initiation of the Trial threatens to reopen their wounds, but this time, Tahan and his siblings are determined to do everything it takes to stay together and ride out this new wave of despair—even if that means learning how to make the most of the System and uncovering the truth of its authority.
