I think what I like most about this is the characters, and how well the story portrays them. Frankie is someone who feels like she mostly has her life together, until an unexpected bit of news leaves her shaken and questioning her life choices. Oscar, her Litten, clearly loves and supports her---but he's also prone to that overly protective aggression, combined with a love of fighting in general. Especially wrestling.
Nick and his Yamper are a fantastic compliment. I really like how Nick's goals aren't the stereotypical "Let's beat all the Gyms and be the very best." He has good reasons for wanting to go, but also a definite point where he can, if he chooses, leave, once he's earned what he came for. Also, the Yamper is adorably stupid about how much Oscar wants to get away from him.
Story-wise we're mostly in the setup phase right now, where both of them are just preparing to launch on their journey. It's not even clear at this point if they're going to travel together.
I noticed no particular issues with the grammar or style.
Very much looking forward to seeing where this one goes!
