    4.75 stars.
    + Complex story and setting.
+ Vast living world with future factions already introduced.
+ Characters are complex and realistic, each dealing with their physical, mental, and interpersonal struggles.
+ The LitRPG side is entertaining to discover and consistently piques your curiosity.
    - The execution is a little unpolished, from a few grammar mistakes and perfectionist nitpicks to a few lapses in context, but nothing that breaks the reader's immersion for more than a second.
Overall, a solid time sink. Thanks for the story, MrGrimSmile!

    This story is amazing
It has very few grammar mistakes, and the little bit it has dosen't impact the story at all .
It's characters are amazing and very life like. And the story is very engaging and it has a good pace not too slow or too fast..
All in all its a very good story would definitely recommend to give it a read. It worth it

MrGrimSmile knows his genre and knows it well. This fiction is worldbuilt well, bringing you in with an intriguing hook and starting mere moments before the action begins.
It is well paced, well thought out, and written with a passion and understanding of its fan base.
If you want a great system story, look no further

Overall: Like the title says, this feels like a progression litrpg anime in a really good way. The Carrion Knight idea is cool and the "side-effects" the MC's powers have on his body are bad ass.
I actually love multiple POVs and I think it's needed here because of how diverse the system set-up is. The branches and the cost required feels well thought out and unique. Sometimes the characters come off one-note, but with how long the story is I'm sure they'll be expanded on in future chapters.
    Definitely worth reading.
Style: The writing style is meaty. The author isn't afraid to dive into the nitty gritty details. Some metaphors were hit or miss but there were plenty of times I had to stop reading and think 'that's a really good description, I wish I thought of that'.
Grammar: I found no issues with the grammar.
Story: Slow-burn at the start promises for a nice, long story. Worldbuilding and system exploration is gradally stacked on top of each other, expanding the more you read. This makes small fights in the beginning have an epic feel, and I found myself cheering along with the protagonists with every small victory.
Character: My only gripe is a tiny nitpick with the characters. Sometimes the characters are so wrapped up in min-maxxing their stats or problem solving that they don't feel real, or don't always react in a realstic way. There's very little time spent on worrying about their loved ones, or fleshing out their backstories. (Luckily, the stats are really cool and interesting, and I really like the "cost" part of the system where a character's hunger or fear is utilized in a unique way.) I'm sure this will be expanded on the deeper I get into the story.

    Dear Potential Reader,
The litRPG genre isn’t my favorite genre by any stretch of the imagination. I’ve read a few due to this story. I’m actually a fantasy fiction fan. I also don’t typically like multiple points of view. Being honest, this book shouldn’t even be on my favorites list. Yet…it is. Here is why:
    1) Any grammar mistakes made within it are not such that pull me from the story. I also know the author will happily fix any that I find. (grammar)
    2) It doesn’t have the feel of an over powered hero living their best life as amazingly awesome people. In that vein, the story progresses in a believable fashion. I have yet to see any super convenient author hammers. The world itself is well thought out and I’m invested in learning what happens next. (story)
    3) The characters are believable. Individuals with their own hopes, dreams, and foundations of beliefs. Their histories worth learning. Not just side characters put in to fluff out scenes or make the hero look good. Some of them are even hero’s in their own right. (character)
    4) This story delivers on the promises it makes. Each point of view adds the characters own perspective and flavor to the story. Even the notices vary from character to character. The abilities aren’t just super powers, they each extract their own price from the character that uses it. (style)
The first few chapters are a bit rough around the edges, dark in a way that the rest of the story isn’t. Not just grim just to be grim thankfully. (no pun intended).
What I love most about this story is that it’s gritty and has back bone. If you like that kind of story too…this is worth reading. I highly recommend it.

    Edit: old review below.
This is a story I find myself thinking about consistently and coming back to. Since I first started it nearly everything has improved and I feel my review needs to address where the story is now. The style and grammar have no problems and while I haven't reread the whole start I have gone back and noticed certain standout parts have been corrected so I'll just say its all good.
Character wise I think my original review is pretty accurate and while the story hasn't had a massive change the way I think about it has.
This is essentially a [System] based story with several characters that can progress their skillsets in different ways. The "Main" character and his class have grown on me as the series has progressed. He started out feeling like alot of litrpg protagonists and his class sounded like it was just made to be "cool" ...but as more character growth has happened and as he's grown stronger his skills have become interesting to think about. He's a melee/tank hybrid that can craft his body to be stronger and the things he can do are more interesting that just "press X to get a 10% increase to punching speed" or something. The unique parts of the system have been doubled down on and I can safely say as presented it's different than basically any other litrpg I've read. I really hope it continues to be written because while I can't say I'd actively go around trying to get people to read it...I do think anyone who likes the genre would like this story and I do think it deserves a space on people's shelves.
    ----
Comparing style and grammar side by side at the time I've read it.
This story has incredibly well written sentences besides ones that are hard to read. The writing style, dialogue, analogies, etc are all really well done - but there are a bunch of parts with weird tenses or mistakes that distract from the style...As the author applies suggestions and is editing "quickly written stuff from the writathon" any problems will probably eventu

This one knows its genre and delivers well. The summary doesn't really say much about where the story might be going to give it an edge on others, though. Would also do well to get a cover.
    Style
Solid writing. Descriptive in the right places. Good voice. Good worldbuilding. Nothing to complain about at all.
    Grammar
Nothing that jarred me from the narrative, so to me that means job well done.
    Story
I appreciate that this gets right into it since that's what's expected. What's nice is that there's a sense of conflict even before the world goes to hell. Completely delivers on the genres in a satisfying way. If you like what's tagged, then you will definitely enjoy this. However, a new POV comes in chapter four, and we seem to go back in time for the introduction. This stagnates the story's forward momentum a bit for me.
    Character
Although this is tagged multiple leads, Mathew is the one readers spend the most time with in the beginning. He's a bit rough but likable. He doesn't start out OP at all and has some wit, so he's an interesting read. He feels real. The other lead introduced in chapter four doesn't have the same fleshed out feeling.
Great work happening here. Compelling, well-written. I'm sure a lot of readers who love this genre will like this.

Since the synopsis had mentioned the system in the first sentence, I had expected a larger focus on the system.
There was quite a few mentions of it, the initial chapters even directing a good part solely for it. But was it done well? The story itself doesn't use tables, instead going over to the bold style of writing things out. It makes the system higher than wider but its fine with me. The mechanics aren't obvious to me, which leads to a sense of being in the dark about how it fully works. Which is nice, some stories saying way too much about it at the start.
Style and Grammar could use some work but it wasn't the worst. 4.5/5 for now.

Really good novel, it has pretty good area building and the monsters are really unique and interesting.
The characters are good and the classes and levels are interesting and have good space to grow.
Now the bad part is the pov switches, I can totally get 2 or 3 pov switches but this is just overwhelming for example you have 5 characters (for now, more later probably) and you are constantly switching between them, and that's just over lunch, not counting when in battle, it's just a mess and you have no clue of who to follow and when you do understand what's going on I don't care about 95% of it, I just want to know how Mathew is going to turn into gluttony, not listen to what's inside the mind of a useless insecure person trying to start a conversation.

I feel that the writing is hard to follow and i have a hard time understanding what is happening. I find myself going back and rereading parts of the story to makesens of what is happening. It mybe a good story but i stoped at chapter 3 becuse i couldent take it anymore.
