Cabin of Memories
Community Rating
Description
After a lengthy inpatient hospital stay Auora is given the opportunity to spend a year recovering at an idyllic cabin. Out in the middle of nowhere Alaska, is a suspiciously luxurious cabin where her only responsibility will to be its caretaker. Oh, and she was given just one more small task after arriving, just to record her days in a journal. After all the owner is interested in getting her take on the cabin and the area for research purposes. They think it is important to note how long it takes for Aurora to meet the other occupants of the cabin.
(Two point five stars) Review from Aurora: “I didn’t know haunted otome was a genre, or how much I would love living it! Five stars for the story, zero stars for the cabin, DO NOT EVER LIVE THERE! And who is my OTP you ask, sorry a girl has to have some secrets. Wait what my journal entries are in here?!?!”
Updates randomly. I hope to eventually have a set schedule date, but for now? Let randomness reign!

- PistolWordsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This reads more like a wattpad story than a RR one, and that made me feel super nostalgic.
First things first, the story is definitely not horror. When you see horror, you picture macabre monsters in a grim setting. Here we have cinnamon roll, our shy and adorable ghost.
It starts like a slice of life, you follow the MC as she adapts to her new life in the cabin—a haunted cabin.
There are cute cats, a lot of monologue, and talks of mental health.
The story is in the first person, so we get a closer look at MC's mental state. There were hints that she was severely bullied, pressured and harassed by her dance mates and even parents.
She tries to move on and heal while having cute back-and-forth note sharing with her ghost.
They are both nerds, and share the same interests so we can definitely see the growing romance between them. It moves fast, and it reads like author's personal journal or fic. It gives a personal vibe like we're getting to know the author through their MC.
Grammar needs tweaking, but I have already mentioned that to the author.
The novel is sweet, lighthearted, and cozy. You don't have to take it seriously, and if you do then you're doing it wrong. I would honestly recommend it to old wattpad lovers who have fond memories with the old stories there! - PlatypusTRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The first chapter had me hooked. There is an air of mystery around the MC herself, as well as the mysteries to be unlocked at the strange cabin. The author does a great job of dishing out just enough information to keep you sated, but still hungry for more.
The style is part of what hooked me from the start. The prose felt a little awkward in the first chapter but quickly gained confidence.
There were some minor grammar problems, but nothing that pulled me out of the story.
The story itself is great. There are several stories unfolding at once, which is why I called this a journey of discovery. As you learn more about the MC, she is learning about the cabin, and her roommate(s). The author does a wonderful job balancing these.
The characters are great. Not only has the author given me an MC that I care about, but one that is likable from the start and draws you in. With a mysterious past, you're constantly itching to find out more about her. When mental health issues came up, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the author portrayed them. The secondary characters are shrouded in even more mystery, but they have an endearing quality that makes you want to root for them all the same.
I am definitely looking forward to uncovering those mysteries, learning more about the characters, and seeing where the story goes.
