Description
David lived a normal, predictable, boring corporate life right up until he made the mistake that nearly destroyed it. On the worst day of his life, the System awoke, tearing David and everyone around him from their normal, predictable, boring corporate routine and threw them into a world full of violence and strife. The Ruthless Scribe oversees it all, every stroke of their pen changing fates- or creating them.
Awakening with the mysterious title of Grand Fated in an immense forest has ignited an old flame lying dormant in David's heart; a way to burn away the past and escape the repetition and routine of a world gone gray and empty. A chance to seize his own fate with both hands. A chance to take revenge against those who nearly destroyed him once before. He'll burn down the whole damn world if that's what it takes.

- L.E. FrenchRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The action sequences for this novel really gripped me. It is well-written but not does not allow the prose to get in the way of the story, so the scenes play like a movie in your head. At the same time, the book does take the time the stellar writing deserves, so you really can have your cake (story) and it it too (beautiful prose).
There is plenty of room for David to grow and it's clear from his response to being thrown into this new adventure that he will be changing as much as his world. Overall, this is a very entertaining and well-written read. I look forward to digging in more. - bausparvertragRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Ive been following this story for a while now and just kinda forgot(?) to write a review. So here it is.
TL;DR: BTW doesnt reinvent the wheel and walks a well trodden path. But that it does great. So read it!!!
You want more detail? Ok, here you go. So we are momentarily still in the tutorial but it slowly comes to an end. Therefore the main focus is still on fighting and action but I think (hope) that it slows down a little after that. Because thats where the really great part of this story lies:
With he characters. Especially the MC is superbly done. He is a mix between the typical edgy Anti-Hero and a unique flavor thats really hard to describe. He feels like a real person with real feelings and reasons for his actions. The supporting characters arent as great but i think that the lack of time spent with them is mainly at fault for that.
The world building is also great with promises of plots by immensely powerful people (gods?) who have an interest in this specific tutorial and its "residents". Theres also this enigmatic "Scribe" who kinda is the overlord of the universe or stuff?
Until now there didnt happen that much story wise, but as thats normal for these kind of stories and its still very early in the story so I wont hold that against BTW.
Grammar and Style are impeccable. The only nitpick I could bring forth is that the paragraphs are a tad too long for my tastes.
But the big elephant in the room: The author is currently on hiatus. I nonetheless recommend you read this as he wants to come back soon. - Rain AmbyllRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Burn The World is a solid entry into the LitRPG genre. Fast and smooth combat augments an interesting system.
Just like it's namesake, Burn The World kindles an ember in the heart of readers that grows into an unstoppable inferno as the story progresses.
Despite some early pacing issues, the story delivers a consistant and enjoyable read with good flow and very few grammar issues.
The main character lacks agency, which contributes to some of the pacing issues, but doesn't detract from the flow of the plot itself. If you are looking for a new story where the numbers go up, you'll certainly find that here. - TwilightFoxRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5So, its a new story on royal road and the grammar isn’t bad nor is the descriptive language generally which already makes it a great story compared to others.
Personally it moves to quickly in the beginning, especially for me and I am sorta left with the what the hell is happening feeling and not in a good mysterious kind of way.
Also the formatting can be wonky with fonts and all that but that happens all the time and can be fixed easily.
Quite a few times it has felt like the author tries to clarify stuff that isn’t really important or needed which is likely why I feel the book can be a tad long winded
All in all not a bad story, I enjoyed what I read. And thats impressive because I’ve read so much of this genre ( LitTPG ), no matter if its on this site, Webnovel, Amazon and Kindle, etc. I’ve seen it all, including this.
Maybe sometimes a little all over the place, long wi-… i’m sure you know what I was about to say, split the paragraphs up more, there shaped like bricks turned the wrong way. Kinda gives me a aneurism trying to grasp what I have to read, Jk… a little.
How harsh I may have been and my rightness aside, I enjoyed the combat. This book reads more like a published work than a web novel with the heavy detail, which is not necessarily bad, of course. However, I wonder if you might have a tough time maintaining the level of quality that is excepted. Anyways good luck from me and others in the near future, I can sense it.
