Julius Pavarimax, a seasoned legal aid attorney from Earth, could never have imagined he'd end up in the Anopia system—a realm filled with magic and mystique. His arrival felt like a stroke of incredible fortune, yet fate's ironic sense of humor wasn't lost on him. In a peculiar twist, Julius finds himself in a role eerily similar to his Earthly profession: a Legal Aid Attorney, but with an enchanting difference.
Now, Julius is tasked with defending adventurers embroiled in extraordinary legal disputes, from the fallout of dragon battles damaging property to contentious debates over the ownership of enchanted items. He's plunged into a world where arcane laws govern and courtroom skirmishes are far from mundane.
As Julius embarks on this unexpected journey, he's faced with a constant barrage of challenges that test both his legal acumen and his adaptability to magic. Navigating through the Anopia system's unique judicial landscape, he meets a spectrum of characters as varied and enigmatic as the cosmos—ranging from celestial entities disputing over astral domain rights to dwarves embroiled in conflicts over magical land claims.
Yet, amidst the legal conundrums and mystical disputes, Julius discovers the dual nature of magic—a boon and a bane, offering new insights into justice and legal practice. With each case, he edges closer to grasping his place in this new world, uncovering the potential to effect meaningful change.

- DavidLingardAuthorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Dropped into a fantasy world in the midst of a great battle? A system apocalypse the catalyst of change and the beginning of great power for pour plucky enthusiastic MC?
Nope.
Whisked away to an alien world to stand in line awaiting processing… in the universe’s most annoying facsimile of a DMV. That’s the one! Seriously the beginning to this story is very different to the rest, and it really sets the scene as a comparison between an exciting adventure, and a dull as dishwater scenario - it’s almost maddening to think this is actually how it could be!
But then free housing? At my age that doesn’t sound so bad…
It’s funny; as I read through chapter two I started to think how nice life could be if everything was paid for and taken care of.
The story advances quickly, which in this case is a good thing because I really want to get into the system and how the magic system is going to play a part in the legalities of this world.
At first I wondered how the MC was coping so well with the changes he’d faced, and how he wasn’t questioning what’d happened to him, just going along with it, but it’s explained well when we find out that there are some magical means at play.
To give a little constructive criticism and it’s more about presentation than anything else, I’d like to see line breaks between dialogue just to remove that wall of text feel. But then it does nothing to take away from the story being told.
Characters seem likeable, story, pacing and style are all good, and barring some small spelling issues there’s really nothing to complain about.
A very good story with a very good and original concept - I’m following for more! - ahmetrtRoyal Road★★ 2.0After delving into numerous action novels, I approached this one with anticipation, hoping for a breath of fresh air. Regrettably, it fell short of my expectations.
"So, I have another question. What is considered a lot of money, and how does the mercantile system work?" Ka-Del starts to drink her mead as she talks. "So, there are four scales you have to consider. The first is of a normal commoner; they make about a silver coin a month. A common adventurer makes about ten gold coins a month. On the royal side, a Settlement Lord, which is the lowest-ranking royal, makes about a thousand gold a month. A Royal Adventurer can make about ten platinum coins a month, and the high-tier Royals don't even trade in coins; they trade in beast cores. The currency goes from Iron to Bronze to Steel to Silver to Gold to Platinum coins. It takes one thousand of each currency to equal the next higher coin. There are also bars in every currency except for iron; it takes ten thousand coins to equal one bar in that currency, but only business owners trade and use bars."

As the conversation shifted towards the staggering sum I had just earned through legal fees, the weight of the numbers nearly overwhelmed me. "Next, we must address the fortune you've amassed in legal fees," Minister Aurelian began, outlining the breakdown with precision. "From the damages awarded, twenty percent is allocated to the court, ten percent to our office. From our portion, you are entitled to fifty percent, while the remaining seventy percent, of course, goes to your client. Our office is set to receive eighty million platinum bars." The Minister paused, allowing the enormity of the figure to sink in. "To put it into perspective, it takes ten thousand coins to forge a single bar. This means, Barrister Pavrimax, you've been awarded the equivalent of four hundred billion platinum coins..."

Aaron inquired, "That all sounds really wonderful. What level of investment were you consideri
