Luke’s life was… ordinary. Too ordinary.The kind of life that passed by without anyone noticing.

He wasn’t popular, didn’t play sports, and had no friends or family. His days were the same: wake up,go to school, endure the whispers and the snickers from classmates who seemed to enjoy making him feel small. Then he’d walk home alone, drop his bag, and head out to the ocean with a fishing rod. The still water was the only place no one bothered him, the only place he could pretend the world wasn’t pressing in on him.

Science class was the one spark in his otherwise dull routine. He loved learning how things worked; the pull of gravity, the dance of planets, the quiet laws of the universe. Everything else felt pointless; just another link in the chain that kept him shackled in the same life.

Luke spent his nights staring at the ceiling, wondering what it would be like to live somewhere else;besomeone else. Every night, he made the same silent wish: for an escape. A chance to leave his old self behind…no baggage, no scars, no history.

Then came the day everything changed.

The ocean was calm, its surface glittering in the afternoon light, when the water beneath his boat began to swirl. The gentle ripples turned into a spiraling current, pulling him toward a darkening center. He fought, kicking, thrashing, gasping, but the whirlpool swallowed him whole.

When he opened his eyes again, Luke was no more.A smaller body with softer hands and a child’s face reflected back at him in the water. The nameLucienwhispered in his mind like it had always belonged to him, and he hears “Welcome home Lucien”.

For the first time in his life, he wasn’t looking back. This was his second chance,and he knew he would not be shackled by the boy he used to be.

What will he do with this new life? What is this new world all about? Can he finally make something of himself?

While the writing needs work, the story has the ability to be amazing. I look forward to seeing where this story goes. Hopefully the author gets a little bit better with the small mistakes I have seen but nothing compared to other writers on here. I wonder if this is going to be multiple books or not.

It seems a bit odd to me to review any book before it's completed; however, I feel this story is worthy of it so viewers know it is definitely worth starting the read. I have read through all Chapter releases at the time of this review (Chapters 1-20) and feel the story line has been very well fleshed out to date. The scenic descriptors are very well done and you truly get the visual of what the character is seeing. To avoid disclosing any spoilers, I will simply say the story has left me with anticipation about what is next and intrigued by certain developing characters' true purpose and motives. There are some minor typos throughout, but what book wouldn't have that without a copy editor? With that little addition, the book, in my opinion, would be publishable for sale. I think jersysfinest truly has put together an excellent story that keeps the reader engaged and wanting more. I highly recommend to take the time and give this story a shot!

Decent book so far! I’m caught up to the current most recent chapter which is chapter 13 and so far so good.
The main character Lucien is really interesting and leaves a lot of room for decent character development.
I’m really excited for the author to start introducing the mc’s powers so hopefully that happens soon.
All said and done, so far, it’s really good.

What truly sets this book apart is the character development. The main character isn't just gaining strength—they're growing as a person. The supporting cast is also memorable, with allies and rivals who feel fully realized and bring depth to the story.
If you're a fan of Cradle, Arcane Ascension, or Iron Prince, you’ll feel right at home here. This book is an addictive blend of action, lore, and growth that left me immediately reaching for the next installment. Highly recommended!
