As first disciple it is her duty to make sure the sect runs smoothly, which means needing make sure there is a sect to manage to begin with.Lydia has not had a thought for Hel, or anything other than her master, the succubus Kali, for a long time now. She has no idea how long it has been since she first begun to serve her lady. Such thoughts are unneeded for a servant of an Archdemon. Sally has no time to consider the teachings of cultivators being too busy teaching starry eyed hunter wannabes out in the boonies. It isn't the most prestigious assignment, but for a cautious huntress looking to make it without risking life and limb? It suits just fine. It's really too bad she couldn't keep her mouth shut. These three and their companions will follow in the footsteps of Hel. To shake the earth, and pierce the heavens with broken swords, hearts, and minds.
AN: This is a side project more than anything else. I have another project I am working on "Birth-Rights" that I have been putting a lot of work into. However, being stuck in revision hell is making me antsy and I want to be uploading chapters for something so this project is what I am doing for that. I am working a full time job as well as a secondary gig for extra cash so it will be awhile until I can have a regular upload schedule. That being said I will try to upload a chapter a week.As an additional aside I have the rough idea of what I'm doing with this story and will move it towards that goal but this is also me just having fun with a story and doing what feels enjoyable. I hope you all have fun with me.Oh yeah also this story is gay, very gay. :3Cover art is me with assistance from Novel AI

- EleeyahRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really enjoyed reading Broken Swords Hearts and Minds. There's not much available yet, so it's difficult to say how it'll develop and where it'll go, but I think it has a lot of potential.
I thoroughly enjoyed Jessica, the rather neurotic main character, and Clover is interesting, too. They're together a lot, but Foxy managed to preserve their individuality anyway.
Plot does exist and we're seeing the groundwork for what seems to be the first great arc, being laid. Because of the way this affects Jessica, I'm quite invested to see how this plays out.
Style: The telling of the story is pretty good. POV switches are solid, paragraphing is almost always clean. Sometimes the wording is a little off. But by and large, I have no complaints. It's good work.
Grammar: Unfortunately, the story suffers from frequent typos and irregular punctuation, as well as the occasional missing or superfluous word. It's certainly the weakest aspect of the story. But I know that most people don't really care, or don't even notice. That's not how it works for me, but even as, uh, sensitive I am to this stuff, it didn't break my enjoyment the way it does in other works.
Story: Lovely. The premise is not all that unique, but it is delivered well and with good pacing. I didn't get any sense of story beats being wasted or stepping on each others' toes. Events line up, and the future is solidly prepared for.
Character: I'd say the characters are Foxy's strengths. Each one has a soul, each one feels alive, and none are dead cutouts. They also feel plausible. These people and their idiosyncrasies could exist in the real world. Relationships seem reasonable and dynamic. The characters have actual problems to contend with, and challenges to overcome.
I'd give it a huge thumbs-up! Most definitely worth your time.
