- murteehRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I don't usually read Cultivation novel. But this is good.
Kou is really cute.
Characters personality and motivation is believeable.
Not cookie cutter like any other novel in this genre that I've read.
Usual problem like power creep and so on is still exist. But that have become common tropes in this genre, so I won't comment on that.
So. Thanks author, keep up the good works - Ellie0809Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0great novel for me main character unique and really cute one of the best novels for me on this site, keep up the good work.
- Marshall75Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well written cultivation novel. Characters (esp the MC) are much more interesting than other typical traditional cultivation novels. I like how young she began and seemed quite real and relatable. Sect and cultivation world was also crafted well so I that I felt I experienced some of what this would be like. Hope the author returns to it at some point.
- domestosRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0What can I say, but a well constructed story so far. Was a bit dubious in the begining and whether to invest the time in a new story. the author finds his feet after that and improves the plot line. a good read
dont be shy give it a go - ChristopherCravenRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Found this cute Gem after Forge of Destiny and with the arguments, I read in the comments you could also say Unfathomable Senior or any other Cultivation story was the source. Cultivation stories surprise are of the same genre and share things like Names for Stages ( Core, Nascent Soul, Red, Yellow, Violet) or Spirits, Beast Cores, and Pills.
To the story, a street kid with no parents robs a proud young master get some resources and latch on cultivation awakens her bloodline and we get a Cute Foxeared girl.
The plot is not too strange for this genre and the grammar improved over the story as did the writing really like the development and hope it continues. - IHaveManyAliasesRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A vanilla cultivation story, with no gimmicks. I quite like it, if only because it's not confusing or convoluted, just a girl getting stronger over time.
However, the grammar leaves something to be desired. Each chapter has multiple spelling mistakes, and it abruptly switches from third-person to first-person early on, for no apparent reason. In addition, the wording is occasionally awkward and/or tacky.
Suggestions:
1. Get Grammarly or some other grammar-check tool to fix spelling errors and minor grammar mistakes.
2. Try to proofread your chapter regularly, even if your grammar tool tells you there are no errors. A mistake spread over multiple lines can often slip through.
TLDR: The story is excellent so far, but grammatical errors are frequent, and can severely damage someone's immersion in the story. - KaapstadMKRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5To start, I'll add my voice to those pushing back against the FoD plagiarism claims.
The similarities are superficial and the stories carry their respective MCs in far different directions.
For me, I enjoy both, for different reasons. Broken Chains has been especially fun to read as the MC is a very young girl and her childish impulsiveness and naivete bring the story alive in a way that few stories on RRL are.
Like all cultivation stories, it has its serious moments, dog-eat-dog philosophy, and jerks posturing for a fight, but it makes the common themes work by juxtaposing the MC against all that. That, in addition to MC's childishness are what kee me reading each update - sedwolfRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Don't give up on this novel; so far it has a very creative premise, even if it's similar to other Wuxia novels. I'm reading both this and forge of destiny, and, while they have similar cultivation systems, it's clear that this novel is not just some knock off. Great job, could use a little more depth as far as characters' personalities go, but that will probably come with time. Needs some serious editing though, especially the earlier chapters.
Review after chapter 27 - ZethuronRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5First of all, this may be in the same genre as Forge of Destiny, and use the same story of starting situation for the MC with them discovering the cultivation world and learning about all that falls under it while also using the same kind of setting, but the way the stories handle that and the overall plot, are completely different, and also, since they are both Xianxia stories, it is hard to not see related stuff in that genre.
The story starts with our nameless MC who is living in the streets, stealing to survive another day, doing something that she should have not done, leading to her talent for cultivation getting discovered and her getting conscripted into the sect, there she learns how to have a civilized lifestyle and gets her name, discovers the world of cultivation, and starts with her ascent to immortality, having many encounters on the way, both good and bad.
The grammar is okay and readable, but there are just large flaws, in multiple chapters, there are words missing, typo's, simple mistakes still in the chapters. There are chapters that are still not edited, 2 months after being posted, which honestly saddens me a bit. There are also issues with puncuation, but they are rather small compared to the glaring grammar problems this story has.
The writing style of the author is rather good, if one does atleast not look at all the issues with grammar, but there are still problems with it. There are some weird sentences, the pacing changes a lot throughout the story, sometimes it goes seriously fast, skipping a lot of things.
This could be a good story, if the author spent some time on editing the mistakes out of the story and improving the spelling, though even if all those flaws are fixed, this story clearly cannot compete with Forge of Destiny, though should be atleast a fine story to read, even if it wont be perfect.
So for anyone interested in reading this, this story is for you if you like Xianxia. Be warned that the quality does highly vary, with som - DosRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Intresting take on the junera Grammar and editing could definitely improve.
Mc is a Young street smart girl, that brakes caricature every once and a while.
