- 13lack12oseRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Written by Stern Trooper (ST) this is an epic novel definitely worth investing in.
Warning: Author has a tendency to disappear for months at a time without warning. So probably put this on your 'binge every three months' list, so there's time for a decent number of chapters to build up.
Style:
Typical (basically) reincarnation into a new world. ST does a good job of using fresh word choices throughout the novel, so as to avoid the typical sameness which often comes with amateur authors.
Grammar:
Better than the majority of stories on RR. But that's not saying a whole lot since RR novels are often filled with errors in syntax, repeated words, and sentences which are simply unreadable.
That said Brimstone is still decently written, I usually find 10 or fewer errors per chapter. 4.5 stars.
Story:
I typically use this category as a world-building score. ST has created a vast world (as of chapter 78 not too much has been shown of it yet though) filled with decay and legends of a time long since past. Easy 5 stars here.
Characters:
I personally love the MC!! In my opinion, ST has perfectly captured an old world-weary man put into a young teenagers body. The supporting cast isn't done quite as well, but the MC easily carries the story. 5 stars here.
Conclusion:
Brimstone Fantasy is an interesting read that transports you to a decaying world that our MC must struggle through.
Recommended! - Jana CarolRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very intriguing. I love stories about people who become the monster. Can’t wait for more.
- NamidutaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0so why was this in hiatus. This is one of the better litRPGs on the site, with great potential. Just hope itll be continued one day. Did something bad happen to author? It's been 4 years, is there still hope or like there is a book and like its a missng stub
- NeeleypandaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've really gotten into this story. One of the best so far. Really looking foward to seeing where it goes.
- PabloypabloRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well written, and good storyline... The author is doing a great job. I've enjoyed bing reading this since yesterday.... And now I will comfortably wait for the author to give an update.
No worries mate!
Cheers. - TacticalPony671Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story, thus-far, is quite amazing. It feels like a Lovecraftian LitRPG.
The writing style is superb, small details could be given to enhance the flavor, but the current writing style lends to a faster pace which can also be considered a plus despite the world building not being as pronounced as it could be.
The grammar is quite nice, with only a few instances of misspelling, miswording, and/or convoluted syntax (which I'm assuming can be attributed to typing too fast).
The story takes a few old troupes and gives them a nice little squeeze to get all the juicy bits flowing. After that nice little squeeze, it takes a hella dark turn with an even darker character (pun intended) and throws them into the 'Deep-End' (again, pun intended).
The characters, while there haven't been enough chapters to really flesh the side characters out, have been ample to get a really good taste of the MC and his thought processes. I can feel the beginnings of a few of the side-characters developing into actual personalities instead of just personality-traits, but again, it's waaaaay too early for that to be really compared to how fleshed-out the MC is.
I'm very much looking forward to reading more of this story. For the glory and entertainment of The Old Ones. - BerythRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5As of chapter 80 :
The story so far is good, the MC is veteran soldier reincarnate into is younger self in a post apocalyptique world with a mix of magic and technology, the story is slow paced and the characters are well developed.
The only reason i didn't gave this story 5 star is because the skill system is a bit confusing and underdeveloped, for exemple : when he lvluped his trees for the first time he gained a skill for each subskills he put ether into but when he lvluped all his subskills when he was in a pinch (the middle boss of undermine) he gained 0 skills...
So far he is nearly lvl 20 in his main class but still only have the skills he gained at the beginning of the story.
Also i think the skills of the class need an indication of tier or level, for exemple : Sharpshooter lvl 5 : 0/360. - BuggyBlueJayRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I haven’t exactly read up to the current chapter yet, nor am close to doing so, but given what I have to go off of at this point, the world building is very strong, and is better than all three of the other very well received series’ that I have already read to the current chapter/ending on this site, and while the main character is somewhat at an advantage at the start (what character isn’t lol), he feels very much grounded in the sense that he is threatened by common threats within the given world, and doesn’t feel as though he has any sort of advantage that would make him any more qualified than anyone else within the world. In other words, he is not any more set up for success than anybody else within the world could be, given enough effort and/or luck. In any case, I find the story and world building to be immensely interesting and would recommend anyone to give it a chance. I will update my review if I change my mind, but if this message is still here, assume that my opinion has not changed and that I still recommend the series, as I completely intend to read this to completion, regardless of how it turns out in the end.
- BullerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I just feel like his backstory gets put away after the first five chapters. Yes, we know he is a soldier and experienced in war because of it, but is that really all there is to it? Maybe a few PTSD-liked flashbacks or something like that. Or even just a brief interlude where we see some of his lif before the current time. Is that just me? It might just be?
Nevertheless, I give it 4.5/5. Written better than most stories on this platform anyway. Nothing will take that particular title away. - BizmuthRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0From the very first page, you will get sucked into the fantastic world of Brimstone Fantasy. In fact, once you pick it up, there is little else you can do until you've caught up to all the chapters.
Absolutely amazing.
