Description

Glad I found this gem!
Still in the early chapters, but man am I eager for more.
At this point in the story, the situation of the MC is still not clear entirely, but I can make some pretty good assumptions I guess.
I like the approach the author took and we experience snippets of the „new“ world after the apocalypse, while the MC is finding out wth happened to his body and the world as a whole.
Style 5/5:
Author seems pretty experienced to me, as the chapters check all the boxes in my opinion.
Keeping my interest throughout the whole chap and making me want to read more at the end.
story 5/5:
It‘s urban fantasy so brace yourself for some weird setups like guns and swords. If you are into it it’s definitely worth your time!

the Author really knows what he is doing imo. Every Character feels fleshed out and has some depth. I really can imagine their character.
My personal favourite so far is his uncle. Seems to be a pretty chill dude, loving his family.
Binged all the chapters in one go and trust me, you most probably will as well if you are into the genre.
Great story overall, would definitely recommend it 10/10 times so far to anyone.

Out of everything with Breachers, the two things that stick out most to me are the characters and the novel mix of plot and setting elements where any one of which has plenty of precedence, but thrown together makes for a really interesting case in "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts." More on that in the Story section.
Style - Third-person and heavy on the description and for good reason. The depictions of both action and background setting are fluid and beautiful which is really key in pulling off that heterogenous mix of setting stylings I mentioned earlier. The one half point off I have to give is that the paragraphs are given in these giant bricks, one after the other, and for a boomer like me it can make it hard to read and easy to get lost in sometimes.
Grammar - A couple of issues here and there but by RR standards this is very tidy.
Story - As stated above, my favorite part. There's a really good mix here of giving the audience bits of information to string together and the time and space to work things out on their own. No lore-dumps and no hand-holding. Perfect for me on that front.
Some of the things you can expect: MMA fights in detail, contemporary real world setting in the Netherlands with apocalyptic backdrop, magic but also high-tech, hitherto unexplored alien-magical business, consciousness-absorbing robots, and military reorganization of society. That sounds like a lot and it is, the feeling is a little loose and slapdash at times which some stories know how to pull together into a sort of encyclopedic "why the hell not!?" affect and others fall short into thematic messes. I can confidently say that Breachers is the former and not the latter.
Character - Yet another area where I like the story's execution. There's a brief dip in chapters 4-10 where we're mostly exploring Marcus' POV in a situation that doesn't lend itself to characterization. But outside of that, the family dynamics play an important part and are well-written and belie

Since this story was starting out in the modern day, it was relatively hard to predict where it was going but the twists and turns made it all worth it. The first few scenes make the story feel like the beginning of some blockbuster movie and just from the opening scene alone you could easily tell who the protagonist was.
Marcus is shaping up to be a well written character, his flaws are obvious but he's also trying to correct them and that makes his character feel like its actually going somewhere.
The dilogue in this story is top knotch and flows well between just about all the characters, which is why you can sorta get a glimpse of what each characters personality is like just from the dialogue alone.
Haven't read any of the magical fight scenes yet but the boxing scene that was portrayed in the first few chapters was well executed and easily sets the stage for the minor scuffle.

Pretty good overall, certainly fits with the rest of the genre. It was quite a good read overall, with compelling writing and a good set of characters. It makes the System Apocalypse tropes unique in its own way, creating a fresh and interesting storyline. I found the bit with the coma pretty interesting.
The style was clear, concise and readable, which is good. It used the standard short paragraph model, sometimes with single line paragraphs, which I am personally not a fan of. However, that is the norm for this site, so I didn't take anything off for that. There were strange spaces between the paragraphs, but that might have been on my end. Nicely done here.
The grammar was generally good, with a few small errors. However, no book is perfect, and it was generally readable. There were no moments in which the immersion was broken by bad grammar.
The storyline was interesting, as previously mentioned, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I won't spoil too much here about it though. In general though, quite a good read.
The characters were realistic, and they acted like real people too, which is nice. No NPC characters here, like there are in some other books. Nice job.
Overall, a good job here.

When I started this story, I wasn't sure it would grab me. I was wrong. Once you really get into the meat of the story, the call to action, as it were, it's extremely easy to get pulled in. Just enough is revealed to keep your interest and make you want to keep reading and learn more. The early chapter are absolutely necessary as well, as they do an excellent job making the world and characters feel real.
The style:
The style is excellent. You can tell the writer has more than passing experience in creative writing and each turn of phrase is well thought out. I can't think of any real complaints as it kept me engaged even before the story really grabbed my interest.
The Story:
The story is good. As I mentioned previously it does a good job hinting at a greater over-arching plot without getting distracted from Marcus' internal and immediate conflict.
The Grammar:
No major complaints here, just the typical things a dozen rounds of proofreading never catch. An extra word here, and awkward sentence there. But It certainly won't distract you from the story.
The Characters:
The characters are well developed, they all have their concerns outside of the main plot and time is given to develop their motivations and relationships with the main character. It's very professionally done.
Overall, it's a worthwhile read, and if you give it a chance, it'll grab you. So if, like me, the first couple chapters don't hook you right away, give it a couple more. You'll be glad you did.

This story begins with a familiar setting, there's the strong kid with a sense of justice when it comes to his friends, the Cop uncle who has some pull to get him out of inevitable scrapes and all that jazz.
The first few chapters set the tone for the character and who they are at the core. I could immediately see how that would become important to the story.
Style: The prose is fantastic. The flow was smooth and I felt that the author guides you masterfully from each word to the next. Everything has a purpose and in the early chapters it really sets the tone for what's coming.
Story: This is fanatastic. It's a little bit of a slow burn as it introduces the character and their normal life. This is more about character-building vs world building, you really get a sense for them before the story really kicks off. When it does kick off, it's a wild ride. The action is well-written and gives you a great sense of being able to see it in your head, but also puts you inside the MCs head.
Grammar is solid, I've noticed zero errors in my readthrough. I am not an editor, but nothing stood out to me that pulled me from the story. There weren't any passages I had to reread in order to pick apart and understand what they were trying to say.
The character is where this shines. It starts off building the image of this person and setting the stage for the rest of their journey through the story. This is not typically the type of fiction I read, but I'm hooked. I will be following this one for sure and taking lessons from this Author for my own works.

If you still on the fence, just give it a try. The action really hits off around chapter 3/4-ish, so brace yourself.
Style:
The story starts off strong with a interesting prologue, followed by a little bit of background/buildup before you’re suddenly thrown into a constant struggle for survival. I confess that I’ve already read a few more chapters on Patreon, so I know what happens up to chapter 13. Good stuff!
Grammar:
I’ve read his earlier work. It’s clear that the writer has improved from his first three books. Few, if any grammatical flaws and those that still remain gets patched quickly. I didn’t notice at all that the writer wasn’t an native English speaker/writer.
Characters:
From what I’ve seen so far it’s an interesting take. (Slight spoilers ahead)
But the character starts off human, then wakes up in a robotic frame, while fighting for his life, only to then recover his body and become more than just himself?
The main character is flawed, but believable and the side characters each feel real and fleshed out, instead of just ‘npc1’ and ‘npc2’, etc.
Story:
It’s a weird one. It’s Urban Fantasy. There are guns, yet also plate armor wearing knights. What’s cool is that the monsters seem more like animals on earth fused together and mutated into monstrosities instead of the typical Orc or Goblin they have to fight. I haven’t quite grasped the overall story just yet, seeing as it’s still early in the story, but the clear goal of survival and reuniting with his family is gripping enough to pull me in.

The interactions with other characters are well-executed, contributing to an immersive reading experience. The narrative's pacing and grammar are consistent, ensuring a smooth reading experience. Overall, the book makes a strong start, and it will be interesting to see how the author develops both the characters and events as the story progresses .

I decided to read this because its been a year since the last story I followed from this author has been published. It feels well written, believable enough characters; in such that they are unique. Its just man, it feels very slow. Considering that book 1 can be summarized as; finding his body, getting out of the hospital.. Something needs to change. The release rate, and rate of story driven plot are terrible for a web novel serialized weekly. Im sure this can be a very good book series when it comes out all at once though.
