- Arthurs_ArcanaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story is an excellent read so far, though I’m leaving this review fairly soon after release. I look forward to many more chapters of Alaric’s rise to awesomeness!
The cultivation system is unique, which I like, and there’s obviously more to come. I also need about seven more words to finish the review. And it’s done! - H0nkH0nkRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A nice and elegantly simple beginning, which has avoided over-the-top clichés in a genre that is full of them. The transition between worlds was seamless, alongside a well-reasoned motive behind it. The main character is well balanced, and the pace of the book is such that sufficient time passes for his skills to develop, while not missing huge chunks of essential foundation building for both character and setting. Overall, a very nice start to a promising book, one which I hope will not be left unfinished.
- Lordtoto01Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've been following Boundless Cultivation since the first chapter dropped, and so far, it's been a pretty solid read. The story starts off with Alaric who is a former master chakra cultivator now reborn as a 7-year-old in a new world. Right now, he's still in the early stages and he is focusing on training his body, working on his swordsmanship, and laying the groundwork for what seems like it's building up to something bigger.
The pacing leans towards slow burn, but it doesn't feel boring. There's a clear focus on character growth and setting up the mechanics of chakra cultivation, which adds an interesting layer to the usual progression fantasy formula. It’s definitely a slow start, though, so if you're into fast-paced action right out of the gate, this might not be your vibe.
The side characters are decent so far. They have their moments, and their interactions with Alaric feel pretty natural. The occasional POV shifts are handled well—they don’t pull you out of the main story, and they give a nice perspective of how the other characters view Alaric.
Worldbuilding-wise, there's potential here. We’re still scratching the surface, but you can tell there’s a bigger world waiting to unfold with factions, guilds, and all the classic fantasy elements.
Overall, Boundless Cultivation is off to a promising start. If you’re into initial slower-paced progression fantasy with a focus on cultivation and character growth, it’s worth checking out. - MrWafflesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Early on in this books lifecycle, but so far readers can enjoy a couple items in particular:
Different cultivation system/premise than what is commonly written in the genre that stands out as unique against others
Using timeskips appropriately to help keep pacing of book from dragging in developing Alaric as a character
Rational main character who doesn’t immediately jump to conclusions or fall into common cultivation novel tropes
And in general a story that flows logically and reads well from chapter to chapter especially if you’re fully caught up and no longer binging the entire series. You’re definitely not going to have some deep revelation about life reading this, but it’s relaxing and allows you to switch your brain off, which is good enough for me. Finally, I’ve noticed a few minor spelling / grammar items, but largely free of major errors in that regard and nothing that makes the story unpleasant or jarring for the reader.
Overall solid read, worth adding into your library on the app and works as both consistent reading material or binge material. - Randy SmithRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am very impressed with the writing skill and also with the research that went into this story. The knowledge of the chakras and the Vedas is excellent and I’m very happy to see this knowledge turned into a story. Especially in a story genre that I like so much. You definitely have to get this published once you complete the first book. It is wonderful to see the mysticism of India being represented so nicely in this book. It’s is sad that it’s mostly Buddhism that is the go to for many stories out there. It’s nice to see Hinduism and many of the mysteries and mysticism that has come out of that belief system represented in this book. And yes, I do know that what is represented in this book is only an adjunct to real Hindu mysticism.
- RedPanda87Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Dunno why I never wrote a review about this novel before. It is absolutely peak. Do not question that. A brand new concept, rooted in tradition and mysticism. It's actually my first time seeing utilize the hindu spiritual system for actual physical prowess. It works, teaches us a lot about history and our own mind while keeping the story unique and creative.
Style score- 4/5. I like the story a lot and don't really see any problems with the style. Maybe not the best I've ever seen but very decent. Absolutely no complaints.
Grammar score- 5/5. Oh yeah you're gonna have no complaints in that department.
Story score- 5/5. Easily the best part of the novel. It is a very unique concept and I can't imagine the amount of effort required to pull it off. With absolutely no basis to build its foundation upon, it has done an absolutely wonderful job making the story engaging.
Character score-3.5/5. This could honestly use a bit of work according to me. Characters are 2d with not too many defining characteristics. Even with them, they just seem very surface level. Including the main character honestly.
Some tropes are overused, like the mc being underestimated by everyone and their mothers or just acting like complete morons. but ehh, not much else to complain. - Redcoat2Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0....the growth of the MC to be quite interesting. I'm curious to see what the author has in store for how the MC will reach the peak of strength and what that will look like!
Cannot wait to read more, especially about the tower and his mother's side of the bloodline abilities. - Xeno998Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0It is so hard to find the good novels that are still going. Very glad to find this one. Keep it up, I love the pacing since it's annoying when the characters develop to fast since there is no tension and no reas9n for them to be so strong. The old I have to get strong for revenge ore something gets old rlly fast and getting strong to get strong is rlly nice in my opinion. The are no meddling gods or other characters that will influence the MC just pure cultivation to better themselves. Thank you and keep going. Do it in your pace and don't lose the story in what you want it to go. I don't want to lose another good novel for that reason
- dhIV2eWAl5dYX+Av1o6UiheVu31B2LRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This novel, at least up to chapter 24, is an engaging, if at times rather slowly progressing, work about a supreme chakra cultivator in what we can only assume to be a backwater world who sacrificed himself for his people and thus obtained the "premium reincarnation package".
The story possesses a serene and calm atmosphere with rather realistic goals and good progression. The pacing is rather slow, although considering the atmosphere I don't mind that at all.
The style is consistent and seems quite polished, the dialogue flows naturally and the world-building is, while at chapter 24 we still don't know a lot, promising to be well-rounded and interesting.
Grammar-wise I don't have any complaints, not having spotted any errors while reading. Sure, there might be some mistakes hidden somewhere but at least to an attentive casual reader nothing really caught my eye. The grammar is complex and both tone and register are consistently and properly used, supporting and enhancing the storytelling.
The only caveat I have seen, although admittedly this is a matter of preference, is the lack of viciousness in the main character. Sure, he is able to fight properly, but I have yet to see him actually showing his evil side (if he even has one). I remain very much interested in the progress and understand that he's only a kid as of now, but would much appreciate him turning murderhobo on some deserving targets. - swhaty321Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0So far this book has been incredible with a really unique cultivation system that I have no clue how you came up with and the world building is great apart from a slight lack of explanation in certain things after they have been referenced in the chapter for example talking about the tower as if we already know what it is or have been told how it works.
I only have one thing I would like to add to the end and tbh it doesn’t matter that much but one thing that really irritates me in books is when the main character has friends or a relationship with someone and the mc because they are the protagonist and has these advantages of coming from another world and reincarnation and all that begins to grow much faster than those around him kind of having to separate themselves from these people because they are needing to go to other places to continue growing in power and these people don’t have the same potential. Anyway it seems like I’m rambling but I think that these type of moments are really good in a story because it allows the character to have a lot of growth and change that wouldn’t have been possible if they had stayed in the same place and something that really irritates me is when suddenly a friend or typically some romantic intrest suddenly awakens some long forgotten bloodline or cultivation tequnique that is EVEN BETTER than the mc’s and suddenly everything is fine again and they can go back to being all happy. This kind of thing has made me drop many a book because it completely destroys all the hardship that the author has put the mc through and just destroys trus in the author that they won’t just do the same thing every time.
Anyway that might seem like a bit of a rant but it’s more of a plea to not do this because I am really enjoying this book and don’t want to have it soured by this kind of thing
