Description

Before starting this, there's one thing I'd like to preface:

The goal of this story is to put you in the middle of an unknown high fantasy world. You will discretely be given puzzle pieces, and it's up to you to figure out the ins and outs of the world. If that sounds interesting, I'd recommend you to stop reading here, as I can't give an interesting synopsis without giving out information that I wouldn't give otherwise. I believe this is a long-form series that is best experienced blind.

.

Long Synopsis:

Four floating islands exist in this world. They are giant land masses that represent environmental countries. One island sits in the middle with three surrounding it. Once, the surrounding islands were connected to the middle island by large bridges. However, after the divine angel defeated the lord of demons, these bridges were raised. As a result, the divine angel was sealed, isolated on the middle island.

A major race known as Elementals also exist, with three different sects representing three different elements. Each sect occupies one of the surrounding islands. The leaders of the past were given a final message by the divine angel, one that spoke a promised day in ten centuries, where the bridges would be lowered and the Elementals would race to the middle, the winner of this race receiving all the power they could ever want. Driven by the desire to attain immeasurable power and glory, the sects waited for generations, and at the time of this book, only three years remain until the promised day.

This will be a four book series, with this first one representing the events that take place on the Ice Island. Have fun reading if you decide to check it out :).

If you are a fan of worldbuilding, a large cast of characters that are well thought out, or female characters that actually feel like real human beings, I strongly recommend giving this story a chance.
    Style
I’ve enjoyed the prose quite a bit from the prologue. Not the best I’ve ever seen, but certainly not the worst. For this site, I think it’s pretty above average from what I’ve read. As far as where I currently am, this story has been taken in a place in (you’ll NEVER guess), snow! So a lot of backgrounds are just describes as frozen, and depending on you, that can be a bit redundant. I think the author is creative enough to make it work.
    Story
As of writing this, I have just finished chapter 30, which as I understand, covers the first major story arc. This story introduces many unanswered questions, then answers them while introducing like, ten more. So ultimately my full review will be withheld depending on how the author manages to tie everything up. As for what is actually happening over the course of this arc, I find myself more often than not embraced within the arms of story. I’m always questioning things, the lore is well thought out, the mysteries intrigue me, and the twists are pretty good! One thing I will say is that this story starts racing from chapter one and never slows down, which is ironic because the first arc itself has a word count that’s likely equivalent to some novels. For that reason, I genuinely cannot tell if I’m experiencing a speedrun or a slow burn. I suppose only time can tell. There’s also politics, and while those are surface level right now, seeing it being implemented slowly gives me hope for the long-term potential of this story.
    Grammar
I’ve seen no mistakes, so this is good to me.
    Characters
This falls into the same category for me as the plot, except perhaps moreso. I’m intrigued by the characters and want to learn more about them. Their personalities aren’t eccentric, yet they are still distinct. And the characters all feel
