Description

How would you survive a zombie apocalypse?

Would you survive the initial outbreak? The other survivors?

Are you stocked up for the long-run, with weapons, food, and others that you can trust?

Or perhaps you are a near immortal being that drinks blood of the living to survive and this is all a major inconvience for the easy life you've been living? I am Tullius Maximus Gaius, a little over two-thousand year old vampire, and quite annoyed at the end of the world. I do not fear the zombies, if I wished I could escape or even kill an entire horde of them without much effort. This issue is my food source seems to be dwindling rapidly, humans are being wiped out by these undead creatures, and so are a few other 'monsters' as well, but they don't concern me. So I must work to keep a small group alive, and for the fun of it I may as well pretend to be one for them for a while, it should be entertaining for a time.

I quite like this one, it being a good balance of apocalypse group survival and a more distinct story and character premise. Zombie apocalypse stories where a group of previously mundane people have to survive tend to get old very quickly and have little to distinguish them from the start.
The fact that the protagonist is non-human, being something old and formidable that has no apparent connection to the apocalypse gives a different perspective, reasoning and goals than are usually found in such settings. That is so far making it a very different story, the protagonist interested in cultivating his humans more than short term survival.
The protagonist himself is a major apeal of the story. He is powerful, in a combative sense. However, this does not really make him overpowered, since combat is not really the challenge of the story. Instead, he is a pragmatic preditor that has to devise a plan to remain fed in a world soon to be short on humans and execute then maintain that plan.
It is still early in the story, so I cannot really give much detail on the longer scale execution of the plot or characters. The grammar is close enough to flawless that nothing jumps out as or feels wrong. I would recommend reading and hope the author continues it.
