Description
With the blood of another, Lucas can heal from any wound.
And with every kill, his connection to the blood deepens. For there is power in the blood. A dangerous power that monsters covet and gods wish to destroy.
When the System invaded, Lucas and the remaining survivors awoke to find themselves trapped at the top of a dungeon tower filled with deadly beasts. They are given just one year to battle their way to the end and escape before the tower self-destructs.
For many, it won’t be enough time.

- DisheveledVagabondRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Blood for Power is a really fun book. It does the tropes it has extremely well and has an engaging world. I listened to the audio and enjoyed everything I heard. The LitRPG elements are done well and I never felt lost by the plot. The class abilities were really fun too. There's also good comic relief to even out the more gruesome elements of the story. One thing I especially liked was never fully knowing who to trust. It kept me on my toes throughout the story.
- AlsoJohnRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5That should satisfy the Tao of judgement proof. The Author didn't say it and I got nothing but an uneducated (degree is not in Eng lit) reader's opinion. The author is very skilled, hits the expected high points in creative ways. Slacker, self putting 20 something sleeps through world changing event? System snarks him a cheat power. Wait it's not survive a dungeon tutorial. It's a climb down a tower tutorial. First he's forced to retreat up from the top floor. The summoning cheat power? Not his. A Kung Fu b movie addicted crow has it
I anticipate a lot of fun and hope for a few surprise twists - malinizgeldiRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5pretty cool representation of its kind. I liked the beginning and the phone call job. this reminds me of this access to the coin store in the "stop friendly fire" series. I can also say that the crow is quite nice and does not fill unnecessary paragraphs. Character and grammar are pretty good. but I don't think it's enough about world building, but the book is new. Also, I can't say that I love the dialogues with other people. In conclusion, I suggest you read it, give it a chance.
- blacksnesRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5First grammar, the grammar is good and the story flows very well, Which is a welcome bonus for me. I like the premise, the story is built steadily. And has great potential, now all I hope is that the author finishes this work. It is worth the read. The MC is simple, he understands his current situation and acts accordingly. So it's a 4 star for me the last one will come if the story keeps going. And thank you author for sharing this novel with us.
- LoeksnokesRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is a tower descent centred on the MC and his main companion. The MC is smart and there is definitely a "Dungeon Crawler Carl" vibe to it. The action is very good and the humour is also enjoyable.
The story is not perfect, but it is definitely one of the better ones in its genre. The author can work on building up more social connections for the MC, and this might be happening in the future. So far, the story has been kept socially lean as almost nobody will form reliable partnerships with the MC. I also think the way the author is making the MC build (and his companion's build) is not as smart as the way I think the character would handle it.
(The MC is wise enough to notice risk factors but keeps ignoring his own incredibly low Willpower stat in a desire to min/max when he actually does not understand risks, despite seeing his crow control dead souls through Willpower. To me, this is incredibly inconsistent with the MC's general caution, and would be easily fixed by having a regular policy of a 10% spend on his dump stats while focussing on his main stats with the other 90%. Stat points come fast and heavy in this system, so it is hard to justify sending Dex from 60 to 80 while keeping Willpower at 7, for instance. It just seems too stupid for this MC.)
Stat points come fast, and it is hard to understand what gains mean, so it all seems a bit arbitrary -- the author could work to keep explaining roughly what the stats are doing for the MC as they are growing, say compared to normal humans. Also, there are some inconsistencies in communication between the active characters that just don't align with previously stated priorities.
(At one point, the MC recognises he needs to discuss build as a matter of urgency with his companion, but then he never actually does it despite many opportunities, also, the MC does not use party chat at important moments (when meeting other people in dangerous situations, it would be useful and easy to mention this to party m - Polvane the EraserRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Fairly standard rpg apocalypse, with the added beginning twist of the protagonist Lucas having slept through the tutorial.
Setting is nothing special. I read this story because I like the plot. The author is willing to write about the assholiness of Lucas's fellow hapless adventurers, and the uncertainty Lucas faces in whether to team up with strangers for company and safety, or whether it's better to depend only on himself. - kubliconRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Tower of Fate is a fun story. (Edit: Title changed to Blood for Power) There is no heavy worldbuilding or exposition dumps. It dives straight into the dungeon crawling, stat building, litrpg experience. The pacing is above average both from post frequency and story progression standpoint. Grammer is great in that it never distracted me. The characters, while not particularly deep, behave and talk like real thinking people. Which is a big plus compared to many of this story's peers. The humor, which has ruined many RR fictions for me, is on point. Humor is very subjective, but this works for me. Just by having the MC not act like a clown, the author wins big brownie points from me.
All that said, this is a story with enough problems that it should probably turn me away. Mostly in the tower system and stat progression mechanics. But it manages to be greater than the sum of its parts. In fact, I think the lack of exposition and worldbuilding is what's holding the story together. Because there are definitely elements that don't work if you think about them.
But not every story has to be deep and rich in lore. This is like a b-movie. Read it to be entertained. On that level it works greats - SandyManManRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Ironically the end of the world is made light hearted in the story. It's not hyper realistic with a talking crow and all. Strong points lie in the humor and progression shown so far. Would like to see more depth to the main character. Certainly interested to read more as more chapters are written.
- Super-SonicRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Not a bad story but it does have flaws. The story itself is not bad if a bit standard but it does work. The characters are where the flaws are, a crow which randomly shows up and is forcibly inserted as a companion is the biggest problem. The bird is able to retort and have a full-on conversation despite allegedly being intelligent for mere moments is highly irritating and the author does not have the skill necessary to convince me of a difference in personality between it and the MC.
My hating the crow, which I do, is not the reason why I feel the need to make a review about the damn thing. It does fit the theme of the edgy bathe in the blood of my enemies Class that he has but because I feel that it was poorly added to the story.
It would have made more sense for the MC to have gained a skill that summons the crow and their banter would make sense as the crow would be based on him.
The MC also feels empty and the only sense of self I feel from him is on the occasional random line about events or people from before the story (the author does this with several characters) and other than that shows of hostility.
I have not read enough and do not plan on continuing reading so I set my review to 4 stars and not 3 as I was going to but I do feel that this story could have been a good one and not a meh one. (It could get better but nonsense like "it gets better in later chapters" is a phrase used by people to make others suffer through a story like they did I don't want to hear it)
If none of the things that annoy me seems like something that wouldn't bother you then go on ahead because the story is alright other than that. - AdeptisRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Its ok but I am not a particular fan of tower ascenders, uhmm descenders. The mc is forced into a reactionary role and a character forced to be a step and fetch it character gets old.
Progression does not feel very progressive, stats seem to be pointless eg mc always gets blindsided regardless of how many thousands of points is added to perception. Powers seem to get blocked/turned off constantly.
That being the negatives it is still a fun read and I think his crow companion is an excellent side kick :)
