Description

A grimdark vampire novel with very slow-burn LitRPG Elements

The world didn't end with a bang or a whimper, it simply changed. One minute, Jon was just another sad-sack orphan, looking forward to a future of scraping pennies, hoping he wouldn't end up another burnout in a ditch. The next, a sudden, violent spasm ripped through reality, melding Earth with a dying, alien world and changing it into a waking nightmare. Most of the world is drowned in a megalithic, putrescent mist, belching out bloated death on chitinous wings. The dead rise and hunger, stalking the lands alongsidegrotesque perversions of myth and fantasy, born from a world gone mad.

To Jon, this hellscape isn't new, just a deadlier version of the same old equation. The variables may have changed, the danger multiplied, but the end goal is still the same : Survival.Yet, when a desperate move transforms him into a creature of the night—a vampire with unnatural strength and a growing, insatiable hunger—it's not just his will being tested, but his very humanity itself.

Forget chosen ones, cheat skills, or an easy mode. Here, there's only raw danger and the bloody-minded grit necessary to overcome it. The new reality forces Jon to navigate a landscape swarming with aberrant monstrosities, cannibalistic carcasses, and the machinations of entities that stretch beyond the scope of sanity. All the while, grappling with an addictive bloodlust and the primal, animalistic impulses awakening within the dark corners of his mind.Welcome to the new reality, where every battle is a desperate struggle, every choice carries devastating consequences, and the line between monster and man blurs with each passing night. The name of the game has changed.Life gives you lemons? Then grab it by the throat and throttle it until it gives you something far more useful.(Note : This is a VERY slow burn LitRPG. Any stats, system or class functions will only become a prominent part of the story at around the chapter 30 mark- though they will be mentioned much earlier)(A new chapter every 2-3 days. Thank you for reading)

The story so far is very good, the construction of MC's personality and character is going at a good speed, the world building is interesting and progresses at the right time, MC is also quite strong but is very weak compared to others like him but it's not a bad thing after all he's learning. That's all for now I want to tell the author you are doing a good job.

This story takes it's time to introduce the world and develop it characters but I think it's worth it to show their growth and development.
The MCs arc is a classic one of a bullied teen earning power but avoids some of the more common tropes.   Just become you've become physically more able doesn't mean your past trauma has magically gone away and also doesn't mean your invincible.
I say that last part because another review I saw before reading mentioned a scene where the protagonist takes a hit they feel was unrealistic but once I got to that point, I felt their comment blows the actual content out of proportion.
The LitRpg have yet to be fully revealed at my current chapter but they have been mentioned and I'm interested in seeing how they shake up the status quo once multiple characters have earned classes.

    Hey
as an experienced fanfic/ book but hardly a critic I really enjoyed your story. While the apocalypse is presented in very unusual way it reads well. You have a way with descriptions that doesn’t make them overbearing and in need of a skip. And while some might complain about a vampire not standing up for himself during the first encounter with the merchant I think it make sense.
take care and I do hope for more.

Great start so far, especially for a first story.
It'll improve with time as the author grows more experienced and gets more feedback, besides that it's been a great experience so far!
The main character seems pretty reasonable and "realistic" so far. His reaction to his bullies is annoying, but also feels realistic for the situation. Authors often write people not like, well, people. But this story as avoided that entirely so far!

In essence this is really well done grimdark fantasy story with litrpg elements, it features the overdone trope of system integration but its done in a thoughtful and fairly creative way that's still enjoyable to read.
The style of writing is decent and fairly descriptive in nature. Although it sometimes slows down the pace the gory details make everything much more vivid. Not much else to say really.
The story is fairly basic but this is a slow burn so maybe a more fleshed out plot will be introduced with time. So far the survival aspect is interesting enough to keep me interested and as of the latest chapter it seems that the plot is starting to really get going.
Personally I didn't see any obvious or glaring when it comes to grammar.
The character work is pretty good overall, I can distinctly tell what kind of man Jon is and that in itself is pretty telling as he doesn't just meld in my mind into the amalgam of all the same typical protagonists. Now supporting characters are kind of a mixed bag but they too are good even if pretty tropy. I distinctly remember Shashka and like her, the same can be said for Samantha, unfortunately the same cannot be said for the Miller sisters. Tina I remember fairly well but it mostly because of her fairly large role earlier in the story, besides this so far she seems pretty shallow as a character, I understand her motivations, personality and such but so far she seems unremarkable but who knows maybe she just need to grow into a more interesting character. As for Mina, I don't really have any negative or positive feelings about her, she in particular feels really underutilized, I know she's small and smart but I simply cannot for the life of me remember anything else about her even though I know that she was fairly well established, it just kind of faded away.
Now, about my worries, while it doesn't seem like will be the case, I hope that harem elements wont disrupt the story as it tends to do. Another thing is the lack of variet

The MC gets all this power, and still let's his bullies walk all over him. He makes  really stupid decisions just to move the plot along. The stereotypical rich kid who is a psycho bully gets a bunch of guns in a school and wants to control everyone is so annoying. makes it almost unreadable. The entire cast of the story is nothing but shallow cliches.

Power is inconsistent. MC can take spears and arrows, but gets punched once by a human and goes to the ground. MC makes no sense. He's stronger, faster, and just better, and is starving, but he's still doing nothing to help himself. How do you go from 1 v 1 an orc 3 times your size to getting punched once and your down?
