- Jack0fheartRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0One particularly striking aspect of Bleeding Chrome Hearts is the use of imagery and sensory details, which effectively transport the reader to the world of the story. The descriptions of the crumbling buildings, neon-lit streets, and the sound of motors and helicopters add a layer of realism and immersion to the narrative. Overall, this is a strong piece of writing that effectively sets the stage for the story to come.

Anyone who enjoys science fiction or cyberpunk will fall in love with Bleeding Chrome Hearts. I highly recommend it for its effective use of sensory details and imagery to create a strong sense of place and atmosphere. ♥ - Little HelpRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Bleeding Chrome Hearts is a vibrant cyberpunk story featuring a gang in a troubled district full of crime and tech. The setting offers not only what you'd expect from a fleshed-out cyberpunk story, but adds to it with elements of Fantasy that fit in really well.
The story switches between interesting characters in a very rich sci-fi environment and weaves a compelling narrative. It almost reads like Slice of Life, except that when you're members of a gang in a dystopian society, your daily life is packed. An underlying storm is unfolding itself beneath this daily life and I cannot wait to find out where the story will continue to go.
I really love the characters and their detailed, relatable personalities and dynamics, the little and big things they worry about and their sometimes clumsy, often badass attitude when interacting with the complex world around them. Harridan conquered my heart immediately (and now that I continued reading, I'm falling for Hotrod, too)... For each character introduced so far, I always wanted to find out and see more and more of them.
Style and grammar are good overall, with the narration offering a personalized view and commentary on the goings-on (often in a way that's very funny, I laughed out loud several times). In the earlier chapters, the POV seemed somewhat disjointed at points, but this issue subsided over time, and by then the chapters were very clear to read. The images of messages add a nice touch of cyberpunk atmosphere.
If you like a well-thought-out sci-fi world filled with endearing and varied characters and their fun and engaging interactions, as well as compelling action scenes, I would recommend this in a heartbeat. - M.G DriverRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0An amazing blend of fantasy and cyberpunk, this is what it should be like when you do a futuristic megacity filled with magical creatures. The author integrates them into the story seamlessly and it feels like a truly functional economy and city.
If you're into cyberpunk, orks wielding high tech weaponry and knife-ears or full body modifications, this is it!
Style:
Brilliant description of scenery, environment, locations. Every detail pops out to you. I can feel the scene coming to life in my mind as I read every sentence, my eyes drawn to the objects that I focus on. I can feel myself zooming through the warzones in the Slag, the bustle of the Night Market.
Action sequences are tight and fast-paced. Death comes and go in a realistic pace when you're gunned down with a hailstorm of bullets. Gore, blood and meat parts are part of the experience. The technology is intergrated into the story, shown, not told.
Story:
I'll be honest, I don't think there's much of an overriding objective or story to be told her. Right now the early chapters feels like a series of side quests and small stories. There are consistent POV swaps between chapters and within chapters, so it is a bit hard to keep track of what's happening.
However, each chapter tells a unique story on its own, complete with worldbuilding, tension building and dialogue.
Grammar:
5/5, perfection. I'm not native, and I never tripped while I was reading.
Character:
I'll be honest, I could not name you who is the main character in this story. Seems like every character gets their time in the sun, so the novel feels more like a compilation of stories rather than a sequential storyline.
Each character is unique in itself. Even if you did not remember their name or their character description, the dialogue and actions they take are so unique to themselves that you can instantly tell them apart regardless of where you are on the chapter. This is peak characterization and is one of the best I've seen on RR.
