Description

How far would you go to learn the truth about yourself? Iver found his answers at the end of a road that resulted in the worst war the world of Anogwin has ever seen. Iver is tired and ready to tell his story to the world. It is the story of a boy who only wanted answers to questions he had his whole life.

His first questions were obvious. Who were his biological parents? Why did they drop him at the doorstep of a grouchy alcoholic Elf? Which of his parents was the demon?

But after his adopted father is murdered in front of his eyes, Iver is thrown into a journey where he finds the answers he wants and more questions that raise concerns. Where did his strange blood magic come from? Why do his magic affinity scores have impossible numbers? But what might be the most important and disturbing question: what is happening to his body?

Follow Iver on his crucible of a journey from a timid boy with no friends to a threat that emperors and gods can't afford to ignore. Along the way, he finds friends, love, betrayal, soft lies, and bitter truths. His first trial is that he must not only survive but graduate from a secret academy where murder between students is commonplace. As Iver treads this path of blood, he will match wits with a cyber phantom playing games with the lives of murderers, handle a virus that drives living souls in mechanical bodies insane, win a televised death game, foil the plots of an organization bent on ruling the world, and much more.

Along the way, Iver will pick up labels like traitor, hero, and terrorist. He might also lose a few limbs along the way.

Very enjoyable. Love the lore at the beginning of the chapters, helps you familiarize yourself with the world and its people. Iver seems like a good kid. Can't wait for more chapters! Wondering how the story will progress from here on out. Keep up the good work and write on!

I have read through alll of Blood Myst and have even tracked down the next book in the series on Dreadwood's World Anvil page. I will admit that Dreadwood's writing style can be rough in parts, but the whol3 of their work is well made. He/She as written some awesome fight scenes that I coulld not put down.
The Characters seem like Real people to me and the way they talk with each other flows so well it kinda feel like Im just listening to actual people talk. Dreadwood has also done a good job of showing mental problems from a firstperson view. And Watching Iver go from wimp to badass was really cool.
I will admit that I emailed Valraven and talk with them and they seem to have somekind of super fixation with this world. They have made a bunch of stuff and they even shared some with me, but made me promise not to share the secret stuff.
They also mentioned that they were going to be posting the mext story under this book. Ive gotten pretty far into Phantom in the machine and I will tell yu that things ramp up and I HIGHLY recommend everyone pushs through Blood myst to get to the real good stuff.
I did tell Dreadwood that I was going to write this review and they asked me to add some stuff about the Angowin Worldanvil page. There is a tone of stuff on the page and its all pretty cool but it does need some art. There is also a lot of stuff behind a paywall which is sad but I get the author needs to make cash to keep things rolling. Valraven also mentioned something about there being a table top game being in the works, but didn't say much more because they want it to be a suprise thingy.

Loving this story! The world feels very unique! The writer really took his time to come up with a very unique magic system! Well thought out! The characters are awesome and the fight scenes are great! You get really immersed into this world! It kind of reminds me of final fantasy meets RWBY and has a great mixture of both magic and science. Gets pretty intense in some areas and has great descriptions! I cant help but think that this would make a great TV show! If given a budget like game of thrones then it would be all over the place! Would love to see that happen! It helps me think about how I work on my stories and fantasy worlds too. It's always good to take inspiration from other writers and you'll find plenty here! Love the way the whole story starts too: that intro with the bar fight(classic) and his story being told to the journalist. Always liked that move in storytelling. The main character is pretty dope too! Has a lot going on and is a pretty complicated dude. His physical description is pretty badass also lol love the shark teeth! Plus his unique magic makes him feel like more of a badass! Slight spoiler: the hard magic system is cool. Love the description of being able to form magic into solid objects. That's always a cool thing. Reminds me of the holograms from star trek! Anyways, definitely check this story out when you get a chance!
