Description
He remembered that it hurt.
Gaining power hurt.
No one ever warns you about the pain that comes before or after. The blinding torture that racked his body for centuries was nothing compared to losing — well ...everyone.
He supposed he should have known things wouldn’t work out in the end — things rarely do for Gods.

- Boss_of_lifeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0As stated in other review/s writing is really good. So far story is engaging enough to make you want more and I personally think this one will be one of top stories on the site in the future if not dropped.
As someone who has read coilling dragon, solo leveling and The New World by Monsoon117 I became extremely picky with stories and this one is satisfying me for now.
So I recommend reading it! After all you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. - CrazyJacobRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A wonderful and promising story! Good backstory and character that makes you feel empathy. Would love to and will keep reading. Good job! The character is a wonderful one that makes you feel his pain and the mystery of the world they live in draws me in. Keep doing well!
- MarmaladeCatRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I must admit, this was quite an enjoyable story. AGUX creates a memorable MC that is undoubtedly rarely seen, a uniquely engaging concept and definitely one that the author has pulled off skillfully. The dialogue and transitions between the two voices of the MC flow naturally, their interactions are harmonious, and at one glance, you gain insight into their characteristics and personalities.
I know a lot of people give hate for edgy and OP MCs, but I feel like towards this story, that hate is misplaced. When you think of a generic edgelord character mould, you often think of a brooding, two-dimensional teenager with a troubled past who spew lines that are borderline cringy and hard to read. Evan and Fenrir, while it may seem like it at first, they are most certainly not that. Their wisdom shows through their words, their past is defined and is incorporated into the story meaningfully, and their personality is stable throughout, with no sudden surges of "ANGST ANGST ANGST" and "I believe in the good of humanity" that is commonly seen in other OP MCs.
Don't get me wrong, it might not be for everybody. While it may be a bit hard for certain readers to get used to at first, from what I've seen so far, their characters only develop and get even better written as the story progresses and the author develops his skill. This story has a lot of potential for growth, and I look forward to seeing it.
Apart from the MCs, however, I have to say the human side characters feel a little lacking. They follow very generic tropes and seemingly have only minimal depth or reason to their behaviour, which compared to what the author has displayed so far, could easily become so much more. Give your characters motives. Give all of them motives, and suddenly your Arrogant Sneering Rogue™ becomes a three-dimensional human being that readers can hate, or like, or root for, but most importantly, relate to.
For grammar, it's a 5/5. I've seen no mistakes so far.
The story, however, I have some c - DakingtrexRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This review is made based on the authors remarks on his experience and plans going forward. My review is positive, and my personal opinion is that this is a story worthy of the trending page and worth reading. This review takes place after chapter 19 and may be proven incorrect later in the story.
I think this story is fun, interesting, and well put in it's delivery. It's not at the level of top tier yet, but it has managed to consistently stay interesting and engaging throughout the chapters so far. This story has good potential and the author seemingly has a good grasp on the direction he wants the novel to go in. Here's my take on its elements and why you should read or not read it.
Style:
Although the author's work indeed has many elements similar to Solo Leveling, the author manages to make his own unique story with his own traits and workings. The novel manages to grab your attention and surprise you with the way each character interacts and develops. The author is great at keeping the reader interested in what's happening and doesn't drone on about irrelevant details and system jargon. The story is fast paced but doesn't absolutely info dump in your face. It contains many popular elements of many stories but blends them in a unique way that I haven't yet experienced.
Story:
The Black Core Summoner is a grim but fun tale revolving around a man who's lost both his planet and his battle against the force that took his family, home, and people away. The MC is named Evan, a vessal for both Fenrir, the dungeon core who wanted freedom, and himself, a man who sought power to save his home. Evan is locked away for his opposition against the Labyrinth, a world consuming threat that devours different species from different planets. The story illustrates his(their) second chance at defeating the Labyrinth after being captured for five centuries and locked away. The plot isn't overwhelmingly gripping, but it does state clear goals and doesn't wander from it's destination. - gej302Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Story: Let's start with the basics: It's Power Fantasy. By Strong lead, this author means mega-power on the lead. But then there's mega-power on the villian/opponents too. It has some aspects of revenge fantasy, and borders on the grimdark for the first 10 chapters. It's got some of the feeling of a slice-of-life but with more focus on faster action and some small parts of action support, which is likely why no slice-of-life tag. All tags seem appropriate to the work, and the story is engaging enough to keep your attention.
Style: Semi-internal dialogue between the main character and his alter-ego bonded core are full of odd formalities for beings that have literally shared nothing but pain and each other's support for 500 years. This is partially style and partially character consistency issue. Not a major issue, but it felt a bit off to me every time they went into master/servant type speech patterns.
Character: Despite the horrifying aspects alluded to in the first few chapters, both parts of the main character(s) are suprisingly sane, which is both good and bad. Good because it keeps it much easier to understand the motivations, but bad in that it created some early cognitive dissonance, at least for me. I can't imagine being sane after 2-3 weeks of constant pain, half a millenium is flat out unimaginable. There are allusions to the crazy, but it has little impact on the character.
Grammar:: Exemplary. Few or no typos so far. Some word choice that seems a bit different to me, like kneeled vs knelt, but both are correct, so that's a preferrence and not a mistake. All in all, not just good for Royal Road, but would be acceptable in published work. - WolfytopiaRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The story shows potential. I haven't noticed any grammar issues so far and the writing is good, but that can be attributed to the lack of chapters so far so we will wait and see. I'm giving it a four and a half stars, because I will withhold complete judgement until there are more chapters, but I appreciate the release rate and the shoutouts. Best wishes Agux, and may you take us on a wild ride
- gaz26Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5It has me hooked! I hope the author returns to writing this and continues to make such a great story. The potential for this is incredible gives me a kind of feel for solo leveling but with so much more depth and building of the mc and the core! The only thing I wish right now is to binge read more of this story! I hope the that story continues soon and let the fight for survival of humans and the planet!
- RatMansionRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0It is very early on in this story's life, at a much earlier point than I would normally feel comfortable reviewing, but I am enjoying the story so far and want to encourage anyone who finds this Dungeon Invasion type of story interesting to give it a try. I think it puts an interesting spin on some of the tropes it utilizes and I look forward to the author's character and worldbuilding. I will continue to update this review as more is released.
For the advanced review I'll start with the easy ones first.
Grammar 5/5: the story is well edited. I haven't seen any mistakes yet.
Story 3.5/5: it is early, this could easily go up or down. That said there are several common tropes that have appeared in this story. Dungeon cores, systems, and the invasion of earth (if you read korean light novels, ie Seoul Station Necromancer/ the tutorial is too hard, you will find this story familiar). So far the author's interpretation of these tropes has been enjoyable, but not super innovative (I must stress that it is still to early to make judgements). My concern is in regard to power creep which stories of this type seem to struggle with. Basically, either the stakes get too high too fast and the mc is boosted forward to compensate or vice versa where the mc gets strong too quickly and the stakes need to be boosted to match (this can lead to a loss of immersion and tension). Sometimes power creep is fine, it just needs to be intended and planned for. Right now, it feels like many elements are being introduced, but it will take time to see them developed.
Characters 3.5/5: a decent foundation that is waiting to be expanded upon more. I like that the mc is a non-human in a human society. Some of the dialogue feels a bit unnatural, and some character development is on the nose, but these things are largely nitpicks. I'm most looking forward to how the author expands on the relationship between the 2 entities that comprise the main character.
Style 3.5/5: Fairly simplistic, and not the - CrazyAbeRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0An interesting novel with a decent content and fair lack of grammar errors. It has a fairly good plot thus far, and is reliably updated with new chapters that leave me wishing the author would write faster. If there is anything that I can complain about at this point it is that the perspective seems to jump around a bit more then you might expect.
- DrCeeRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0So I read through this story late last night and I thought it was alright. Nothing special but alright. For me personally I couldn't really connect to the characters, many of the other reviews seem to have though so it might just be a personal thing. I liked the system though it wasn't anything special. The whole story seems to be your typical angsty story with a protaganist who has been tortured for centuries and gets out with very clear bad and good guys.
