Beyond the Page

Sam Baker is the unlikely and reluctant newest employee of 'Beyond the Page'. Miss Weiss just needed someone to man the shop and Sam just needed to fill in a form to collect 'looking for work' benefits. However, Sam discovers that the dusty, out of the way, technologically barren bookshop is tasked with the protection of reality against fictional incursions. Working along side private detective E.J. and under the googly gaze of Adele Weiss, Sam becomes inexplicably linked with the fictional characters that have accidentally crossed over from classics to new best sellers. From The Hobbit to Clockwork Angel, from Terry Pratchett's Discworld to Sherlock Holmes, characters such as Dracula, the White Rabbit, the Invisible Man and Elisabeth Bennet are no longer confined to the pages of a book but have moved beyond.

But, regardless as to their fantasy situation, ALL fictional incursions must either be eradicated or returned to their books. Some opt to go quietly, even eagerly and others resist, bringing the darkness of their fictional world into reality. And, for better or for worse, Sam is now a part of this world...
