So far I have really enjoyed it!
A fun take on the genre and I am enjoying the references. Funny, smart, self aware. I reccommend this one! It was great enough to make me sign up!
The protagonist is believable in his decision to do what he must to advance the story and a better version of the tropes. I have some thoughts about where the story is going and I want to see how closely it follows the style or if it is going to deviate in some new way.

So far, I enjoy Berzerker! It is well written. There aren't a lot of grammatical mistakes, and it is easy to read. That is super nice that the author actually proofed his work or had an editor. I can't stand poorly-proofed works.
I like the writing style quite a bit. The brisket reference was a little much but very vivid. Not going to eat BBQ in a while. LOL!
The premise is interesting. The main character isn't some nerdy boy-child who gets ALL the powers and excels in everything he does "unironically." Having a character that doesn't know how to play the game is a cool idea. Aaron is a jerk, but I have this feeling that based on the writing style, he might have some significant character growth coming down the road, or so I hope!
I look forward to seeing where this story and Aaron are heading. Character growth, ftw!
I stopped at Bella's first chapter, but I was really excited to see that she will have some screen time too. In the beginning, I wasn't sure, but I hoped that she would be more than just a paper-cutter character, and it looks like I'm going to get my wish.

Arron must enter a vast game world to search for the consciousness of his comatose wife. Filled with confidence and ego Arron quickly realizes he has never played a game quite like this before. Filled with laughs and groans, battle and gore, this story is a raucous romp for everyone except our hero.
This is my first non romance litrpg style book. I am still dipping my toes into the literary rpg fiction pool, finding what works for me and what doesn’t. I’m discovering that books like Berzerker by Alexander Bane are definitely my cup of tea.
Quick Thoughts and Rating: 5 stars! I can’t imagine how challenging it would be to tackle the narration of a video game world like this one, but I do know that Bane did it with a finesse only a talented author like him possibly could. Great world building, romantically motivated, hilarious gamer nerd pop culture references. I also liked the feminine power players present in the story, as well as how strong the female main character is, I felt it had some good representation in there. She’s epic.
I can’t wait to see the final chapters for the ending and I think this one would be great with audio book narration for all the various parts.

This is not for me... Even with his advanced their said tech is, they are too much of a noob for me. Even those not entirely familiar with games know at least the basics of a game. If this happened in the 1900s or early 2000 it can be said that it is possible for people to not know if games. But having VR? Robitic arm? They are clearly more advanced than our tech, but why the hell couldn't they use their brains.
If I was in any if the situation if the main characters (the husband and wife). For example, if I'm in his position I would certainly research, but for him nooooo go nuts on everything on the games that would have save his wife. I mean with how amazing their tech is, in school you would have interacted with games but noooo they are too... I don't know? Clueless?
If I'm position of the girl (wife). You wake up in a new environment, the first thing you should assess is yourself and think about what happened before. But noooo the wife just goes "ahhhh" full-on hysterical. I mean, that would certainly happen if she denied or won't believe in magical shits. It could have been better if she has few monologues like "there is no way this is real" or like "I'm I abducted? But nooo so illogical way of thought.
The premise is that both of them don't know what vr games, even simple games is.
There are no problems on the grammar or spelling. Just that the fact that they (the ML and FL) know so little about games given the era (vr) they are living in.
Unless when you are you so anti social that you don't have anyone to play with. Or Too outstanding to play games.
I mean the choice of not preparing/researching anything before saving his wife is so... Noob? Anyway no hard feelings just I can't stand seeing (reading) that in that world with vr so realistic that people live in them, there should be money moving around in that industry. But why?! The F they don't know the basics of games?

A little reminder before you read this review that the story barely has any chapters, and this is just my opinions after reading every released chapter a couple of times.
Overall: Berzerker so far has been weird. It's not a good story, by far, but the style and grammar show a level of care and effort that leads me to say that I can't even call it a bad story. It's just a mediocre story, and in a dead-horse genre that has been beaten thorugh the decade it doesn't stand out in any way. I also have to admit that as I read I was extremely puzzled that such a story already has a patreon, advertisments and a whole website dedicated to it and the author. It seems like putting the cart before the horse.
Style: The style is decently good. It is not particular in any way, but it gets the job done: we know what the characters are doing, and somewhat what they are feeling, but it just lacks that touch of personality that you can usually find with more experienced authors.
Grammar: Haven't spotted a grammar mistake so far
Story: The story is weak. The premise itself is a difficult sell and it's also misleading,  "Filled with confidence and ego Arron quickly realizes he has never played a game quite like this before.", Arron simply hasn't ever played a game. Once again, there's something weird about the story, usually LitRPGs, even terrible ones, have at least that charming personal touch from the author trying to create what they would find entertaining in a videogame, but there's barely traces of that here.
For that matter, there's barely traces of a game here. It takes a lot of chapters for the MC to even realize that "games", those weird things, are different from reality. Which is a bad choice when your main audience is going to be Royal Road readers: even the newest people to the site will at least know what a game is, and reliving those same basics through a dislikeable MC is simply boring.
Characters: And speaking of dislikeable MC.... No, that's it, the MC is an ass. He'
