Description
“What? So I’m a damn blueberry now?”
Yes, Barry. Yes you are.
Barry just wanted to get through life. Working a useless job by day, drinking at a forgotten bar by night. It was a miserable cycle, but one he grew attached to over time.
Then Barry died.
Waking up, he found himself in an enormous orchard, brimming with color, fresh air, and vast oceans of blue sky. Unfortunately he also found armored insects, dark castles, and a world of powerful magic. How will Barry, the common calypso blueberry, ever hope to survive?
Through the power of evolution. That’s how.
Berry Barry is a gothic fantasy LitRPG about evolution. For fans of Hot Topic, fruit salad, and books.

I was enjoying the story very much but then at chapter 21 chapter got removed and it doesnt say STUB in the tags, if it did I would never started at all. Also I have problems with understanding the importance of level and items it feels inconsistent, I know that it is not the main focus but it takes away from experience - NickEvansWritesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Alright, who told this guy it was okay to write a fantasy story about a talking Blueberry? Who did it? Because I want to kiss you. This story is so much fun. I had a few fears going into it such as if it would be childish or if it was going to be too satirical. Nope, I was wrong on both counts. It is literally a guy reincarnated as a blueberry in a fantasy setting.
Big points for imagery here. Beautiful descriptions of scenery, really flowery writing style (no pun intended), love the character connections so far. Really feels like a "lived in world" that the main character, the blueberry, really is just coming into.
The system mechanics come off as basic so far, which isn't necessarily bad but can get old if we are 20+ chapters in with still only bits and pieces of it shown. This story is only 4 chapters in at the time of me writing this so I can't say too much, but I am excited to see more about the evolutions and races. Since there is a class system I am guessing there will be abilities and I am VERY amped to see what kind of powers a blueberry will have.
The single most unique story I have found since joining Royal Road. - PloopieRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Coming from a guy who wrote a story about a potato, I can say this is definitely a must-read. I would have preferred it if the mc had been a potato, or even a vegetable instead, but I'm willing to make an exception because this fiction is exceptionally well written. See what I did there? Anyways, the only thing I hd a minor gripe with was the formatting style. I feel like it may be slightly easier to read with more line breaks. On the plus side, there are some very vivid descriptions. Overall though, berry good. Potato approved.
- DRailyRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Because the concept alone the story should be something between complete nonsense and a fever dream, but so far the author is making it work.
Absolutely no idea where this is going, but it is worth the read for the novelty if nothing else.
If there is one thing I do genuinely unironically appreciate is the take that most people that would transmigrate to a world with rpg system would get over their heads seeking power and die instead of becoming farmers and living a quiet life.
