Beneath the Notice of Heaven

Borders shift, institutions crumble, but Empire stands eternal.  The world sits on the bones of the past, which themselves were built from older, stranger things.  Power is a seive which drains a person of all that makes them human, and the higher you climb the narrower the path, and the less choices you have.

This is a cultivation novel, but with a strong focus on comtemporary western fantasy storytelling, worldbuilding, and character development.  There will be a complete lack of the genre tropes I find most annoying such as harems, presentation of clearly sociopathic characters as beacons of morality, and blatant power fantasies without meaningful struggle.
