Description

Auren's world shatters the day a noble's blade takes his father's life. Fueled by vengeance, he sets foot on the Trails of Honor, seeking strength to strike down those who wronged him. But as he carves his path through blood and battle, he comes to a bitter truth—vengeance is hollow.

Left with nothing but the echoes of his past, Auren turns his gaze forward. If justice cannot be found beneath a banner, then he will forge his own path. Not for revenge, but for those who cannot fight for themselves.

In a world ruled by power and chains of fate, can a man without a banner stand against those who would break the world?

Your prose is vivid and immersive. The use of sensory details, like “Hadric’s power surged again, this time so violently that the air itself seemed to catch fire,” creates a strong atmospheric effect. The pacing is well-handled, building tension naturally. However, some passages feel a bit overwritten, particularly in fight scenes, simplifying certain descriptions would make it better.
Your writing is mostly well-structured, but there are occasional grammatical issues. “Hadric’s voice broke the stillness. Hadric stood tall”—repetition of the name could be streamlined for readability. Also, “The power of an ascended psych was not something an ordinary man can resist” should be “could resist” for proper tense agreement. A careful proofread would improve fluidity.
The narrative delivers emotional depth, making Auren’s grief and transformation compelling. The contrast between the peaceful village life and the brutality of world was portrayed skillfully. Edrin’s defiance adds weight to the tragedy.
Auren’s arc is set up well, showing his innocence before the tragedy that shapes him. Edrin is a strong father figure, and his unwavering defiance makes his death impactful. Hadric is intimidating, but his villainy nature adds nuance (perhaps a conflicting motivation) could make him more compelling. Seline’s presence adds warmth, but her role is still minor.

Hey, I just finished chapter-7, and I’ve got to say, I’m impressed. The worldbuilding is rich, and the intrigue kept me hooked. The slower moments dragged a little, but they added depth. Loving the morally gray characters. The prose is immersive, making every scene feel alive. Can’t wait to see where the story goes next!
