This book starts wonderfully well, and to turn the tables on a lot of what I read and have read, it starts with somewhat of an ending. The end of a group’s time at an academy, a rundown of a previous romance, goodbyes, and a look into what makes the characters who they are. Friendships, exam scores and a hint at a war with machines from space.
A great beginning, set up and a lot of intrigue.
And then we drop into the system. A brain-computer interface built with an operating system and a militaristic sci-fi feel from the get go, this one’s about to get fun.
The system – or the gamified war – is explained well and the ranking system is described early on and is well placed and thought out. It looks like we have something big to root for…
The author is clearly talented from the first few chapters I’ve read. The style and pacing go a long way, combined with the excellent spelling and grammar, to show us that they’ve spent a long time making sure this reads well and honestly it doesn’t disappoint. I find myself wanting to stop doing whatever else I’m doing just to find out if Dante is going to head straight into a war and become OP, or make it to third rank and die like the rest. The first few chapters foreshadow a lot, and that’s a really nice way to start a story.
As one would expect from a militaristic setting, some of the characters can be assumed, but that happens for a reason. We need a shouty general and we need comrade-friends, that’s just the way the world works!
Overall, this is another great story with a lot of passion injected by the author, and I hope it continues as well as it started!

So what do you do when your in a terminator world where anything that is like a T-100 is able to learn and plan reliable strategies and able to link with others to become smarter and stronger... and your world is only 2 cities that never can talk anymore since they are cut off from each other... You build an Academy that trains people to become a Zo'an... yet you only become a Zo'an when you die... So there is the dicotomy to be Zo'an you need to graduate the academy to defend the people on the back line yet not...
I've enjoyed this story and hope others give it a chance.
