There's a killer on the streets of the villages, towns and cities of Devon. Torn apart, the bodies are left for all to see. The Mundane police can do nothing.

The magical community is up in arms. It's plain for all to see that the killer is a Were beast, or a Shapeshifter and as such every one of that ilk is under suspicion. Old hatreds surface, and tensions reach boiling point.

Taking on the Mark, a magically binding contract to hunt down the killer, Jane Doe and Dawn, her beloved assistant, face suspicion from all they meet, including the other agents on the case.

Then Ragnhild, a bear Shifter, comes into town, freelancing on the Mark. Gradually they start to work together, drawing closer than Jane ever imagined possible.  As they finally start to get traction on the case, they find that the case is far darker than anything they've ever encountered before. Conflicted, they find themselves hunting a killer in order to save undeserving victims, and then things get even more personal when Dawn is bitten.
