Description

Dix, a man whose entire name was a bad joke, thought he’d died and gone to heaven, until reality kicked him in his name again.  Sure, he would have a whole new world to explore, one full of magic and adventure, but first he would have to be tested by the gods.  They promised the tests weren’t deadly, just painful.  If he does well, they might even give him prizes that will make him a target amongst the population of his new world.  And the tests of the gods are just the beginning.  Follow along as Dix falls back on his tried and true method of making it through life, letting his subconscious do all the work while he looks for girls.  It’s not like that led him to his death once before, or anything.  And whatdoyou call a life after death anyways?

A man too smart for his own good, he is woefully unprepared for what’s coming his way, no matter what he thinks.  Trainers, friends, even gods won’t give him enough of a head start for the things people will ask him to do.  Despite the odds of survival, he’s got a job to do.  Time to get to work.

Thanks for this story. I seriously didn't find nothing wrong with this novel and i just don't see how anybody else could. I really, genuinely, love this story. I love everything about it from the characters you've given life to, the world your building, to even just the flow and structure of the story itself. This has turned into one of my all time favorites and I sincerely, and selfishly, hope and pray that you can get back to this wonderful gem that is a guaranteed masterpiece in the making. I'm rooting for ya👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻✌🏻 let me hit the lottery, I would put up the money to see this as anime.

This story is frusterating, but it has a lot of potential. My main issue is the main character. Everything else besides him seems fine so far, and he even has his moments. The issue is the author potrays him as either a serieral killer or incel. MC's wiritng sometimes makes me think its the power fantasy of a guy who tries to talk like an anime character in real life. He is supposed to be an extreme genius without even trying, has no attachments to other people, is extremely good looking, confident, and skilled. If he were real, he'd hate the reader for who they were, and the story would have this set up to be justifyable because of how smart he's supposed to be. For example, in the third chapter, he introduces himself as DIx in a flashback, during middle school classroom, for the first time. Apparently the other students eyes flashed with fear?, because he was either so confident or he beat them up so many times before .... what? Or, with zero information, he immediatly guesses that Crossroads is like the god of the cross roads between life and death and light and dark wrapped in time or some shit, giving some nonese information about how he figured it out, which basically boils down to "nothing else made sense so duh".
Other than the grating main character, the story so far is good, even more so considering this is the authors first work. I would recommend re-working the main character, cause right now he seems to be a Gary Stu, with huge intelligence, likability, attractiveness, etc for no real reason. I would suggest towning those elements down, quite a bit, and removing some entirely, The base of the character isn't bad, but he needs a few changes, such as people recognizing his flaws, and him not being a perfect being or anyhting.
I will continue to update my review as my opinion changes or things get fixed.
